I give 1 star to the look of the place and 1 star to our waitress Kathrine.
We were a party of 4. I'm not a picky eater, I eat everything. But the duck leg, despite getting told, was salty, was like the chef poured the whole salt container on it. It was the hardest, over-cooked, piece of duck leg I've ever tried in my life. Spat it out into the cloth napkin. The puréed sweet potatoes seemed nice, but the empowering taste of nutmeg ruined the whole side dish, which was sweet potatoes and green beans, topped with frozen cubed breakfast potatoes.
We complained to the waitress and Katherine immediately asked us what else we wanted. She knew our dishes weren't up to par. 10 minutes later our new dishes came out. My mom had rosée tortellini and myself a margarita pizza. My father and partner had the special night menu pizza, which seemed interesting. It had olive oil with honey, pistachios, goat cheese, but the whole pizza toppings were burnt, not just a little crispy, but burnt black. We were taking off black burnt pieces of we don't know what, cheese or crust or who knows, the size of golf balls of the top.
The bloody cesar that was ordered only had a rim of celery salt, no straw or celery or lemon nor a stick to mix it, but the aperol spritz had a nice wedge of lemon with straw and fresh rosemary inside, surprisingly. The desserts were ok, apple pie and cheesecake, delivered from a bakery.
Overall, an underwhelming night. It was our second experience here, and unfortunately our last. I doubt this place will last a bright future if they continue like this.
Thank you Kathrine for...
Read moreI was happy to see a Monza opening near my house. We went last night for the first time and were disappointed. We arrived at 9pm after my daughter’s graduation ceremony. The hostess was very helpful and sweet and accommodated our party of 7 quickly. Our waitress was attentive and unfortunately apologetic throughout our meal as the kitchen didn’t seem to be up to par last night. We all received our meals except for two people who were sharing a pizza. Not only did the kitchen chose to cook the three other pizza at our table with 2 others from another table (making the shared pizza late to our table) once they cooked that pizza, it tore in the oven and had to make another one. Basically 5 of us were done with our meal before they even got theirs… the pizzas were dry and lacked toppings for the price, the lasagna del Nonno was bland and burnt and the shrimp plate had 3 underdone shrimp and 3 burnt shrimp… the cocktails were also very watered down, the Sicilian Margarita tasted of orange juice, no tequila… all in all disappointing experience food wise, especially that I have been to the Monza in Sherbrooke East in Montreal and the food has always been great there… so I guess this one is a « been there, done that, not...
Read moreWent for dinner Friday night with 3 friends. Restaurant is small but nice. We shared fried calamari and focaccia as appetizers, they were good. I had an espresso martini and liked it. A friend had salmon with rapini and quinoa of which I had a piece and enjoyed it. The rest of us had pizza. The taste was good but my God talk about a thin pizza crust, felt more like a pita bread (I know it isn’t), it needs to be a little thicker. Our waitress was very nice. What I didn’t like is going to the washroom and finding out it’s a mixed washroom. I’m sorry I don’t care that it’s 2024 but as a woman I do not feel comfortable sharing the washroom space and I don’t like the fact that there were kids in there alone with men. I purposely waited for the little girl to finish and leave before exiting the room washroom, did not want to leave her alone in...
