Last night, Thursday, April 24, my friends and I arrived at the restaurant around 8:40 PM. We ordered water and food, and everything was initially fine. Although we experienced an hour wait for our tacos, we were enjoying the atmosphere with people dancing and the hockey game playing.
Around 9:30 PM, a man approached us and stated, "To be honest with you girls, there is cash under you. I don’t know if it’s yours, but I’m going to check the cameras." He repeatedly mentioned checking the cameras, not allowing us to respond. We expressed our preference for him to check the cameras. One of my friends had taken out money earlier that day, but she thought she left it at home and was unsure if it belonged to her. The man questioned her, saying, "You don’t know if you had 60 dollars?"
We attempted to clarify our situation, but he continued to insist on checking the cameras and asked the waitresses if they were missing any money. They all confirmed they had not dropped any cash. He then stood at the table next to us, which consisted of all white men, asking them if they had seen us drop any money or if the waitress had dropped it. The same man who accused us stated, "I asked them, and they said they weren’t sure. How do you not know if you have 60 dollars?"
Feeling uncomfortable, I requested our food to go as I did not feel welcomed and wanted to leave since everyone was staring at us. When I made the request, he asked, "Did you guys even order?" I confirmed that we had, and we waited for another 20 minutes
The waitress apologizes and asked which man and we told her, She said it was the owner.
I am just hurt because 1. He was talking to the table next to us about our situation, never came back once after accusing us He was so rude He didn’t even tell the waitress we wanted our food to go I come here with my family and would like to keep coming here but I am not gonna keep letting micro aggressions happen He could’ve just checked the cameras before coming to our table, he could’ve asked the waiters if the dropped anything before coming to our table. I’m just annoyed because I do like this establishment and cannot believe something like this happened, anyone would be annoyed with someone being so rude to them. It is...
Read moreThe food is really good. This was the second time I tried it and I've loved everything I had. The birria tacos are insanely delicious, it's definitely one of the best Mexican places in town. We did also get the Papas al Horno though, and a lot of the potatoes were under-cooked and crunchy which was disappointing.
The in-store service also left a lot to be desired. We went on a Thursday evening, it wasn't very busy (maybe 20% full at the time). While the server got to us quickly, it was over an hour wait to get our food. After taking our order and bringing our drinks the server just disappeared for a good 20 minutes. After that he finally came back, got us some more drinks, and then again disappeared again. Eventually after about 40 minutes he came back and we asked about our food which he said would be right out. After another 30 minutes without our food he came back again and said there was a "POS error and orders were delayed". Multiple other tables who came in after us were served before we were however, I'm pretty sure the server just forgot to ring in our order (I honestly would much rather him just tell the truth). Finally after about an hour and 10 minutes he brought 5 of our 6 tacos, then finally the last taco and our potatoes. One of my tacos was wrong, I ordered shrimp and they gave me fish, but at that point I didn't want to risk waiting longer again for the correct food and decided just to eat it. After we finished eating we just wanted to leave, the server took our plates and we asked for the bill. He goes to the back, then comes back out and starts cleaning other empty tables, gathering dishes and cutlery, wiping them down before finally bringing out the debit machine 10 minutes later.
It was embarrassingly bad service, and to make it worse I'm pretty sure the person helping us was a manager (he was dressed differently than the other servers/cooks). While I will go back in the future, they really need some serious training on proper...
Read moreI enjoyed the food while in westfort, so I figured the move wouldn’t hinder the great food. I know that late in the shift or night things slow down BUT it was no reason to give me the oldest ,hardest food that was left over from the day! I ordered the steak sandwich but received a brick of dried old what I think was beef on a dry bun. They tried to soften the sandwich with a ton of sauce or whatever they used but it was still a BRICK . This being an order for pick up, I didn’t know until I was home and nearly broke my tooth. I phoned to inform the staff of the cooks laziness and lack of care or respect for the paying customer. They apologized and said to come back the next day but only after 7:00, and was met with funny looks and like I was lying and looking for free food. I walked out the door and haven’t said anything until now. It’s been a few months but I don’t think I will ever go back. Just my sandwich made properly was all I wanted, not anything free as it cost me $40 with the tip.
I have since heard back from management about this issue and I greatly appreciate the response. They apologized and asked if they could try again , and offered me to have a good experience on them for the poor mea I received. They will make me the same meal at no cost. I know it will be a better experience and I have always loved the food at this restaurant. I know I will once again be a huge fan of the food, and have management to thank for doing it right. Much appreciated . I will adjust the rating accordingly after I have received my chance to enjoy their delicious food. Let’s just say it will be all yellow stars if they honour their...
