Osmow's Shawarma — Restaurant in Thunder Bay

The shawarma chain of Canada.

We came to this location to have some shawarma. While id had it before via skip, id never ordered in person in store.

The gentleman working helped us figure out how to order and he was assisted by the sticker on the counter that explains the order of choosing and options.

Their menu is a bit funky at first. There’s no sides for shawarmas. Everything is extra.

I got the chicken shawarma with mild heat. It’s a strip of hot sauce they put in the food (see picture of poutine) and I found that to be quite spicy. Next time id go for no spice. The veggies were the best part. Crispy and crunchy, they tasted so fresh. I also went for tahini and garlic sauce mix as recommended which was also super tasty. The meat was cooked nicely and it was moist. It came out warm and toasted.

My partner has a poutine shawarma version. He enjoyed it but it wasn’t his favourite. He’d been hoping there would be some crunchy veggies available on it, but it didn’t come that way. He wished he’d ordered a shawarma instead as the mix of shawarma innards and fries made for a strange combo. I’m not sure why so many places wanna make everything into poutines.

He also ordered the chicken shawarma bites which ended up being just chicken nuggets with a shawarma sauce, so that was sort of underwhelming. They were good but they weren’t what you would think would come out.

We will likely return in our travels at some point or another.

very clean restaurant at 20:00hrs very helpful staff on food choices from the time I picked up my food from the counter to walking out the door to my car 4 feet away, the food was ice cold. The rocks are literal name and description, rice is undercooked af and hard. the lamb rice special I purchased was like actual refrigerated cold and so was the lamb. the 2 beef shwarma i purchased was also cold af like it was just picked from a previous unfulfilled order hours ago. the wrap fell apart and is likened to left open burrito wraps left drying in the sun. literally the refrigerated soda i purchased was warmer than the shwarma i purchased. the salad was warmer than the meat in the wrap that fell apart. however the spice is on point. it is spicy like battery acid.

Hi everyone, If anyone is planning to get food from this location, please don't go after 12:30am or after 01:00. Because the employees who work there don't want you to come at that time. Dated 10/09/2025 me and my co-workers went there to have some food after work, around 01:15 am. When we are at the counter the staff opposite to us was preparing some things and suddenly he started to throw stuffs like as if he doesn't want us there. After we got the order when we are about to walk out of the shop another staff coming out from somewhere throw something on the floor. When I turn back I saw his face so mad. If this is how you treat your customers who came after midnight then why don't you guys close early. I was a regular customer there but I wish to choose other locations next time.
