Salween Restaurant — Restaurant in Thunder Bay

Unfortunately our experience wasn’t great with this restaurant. We ordered through skip the dishes, and they were great to refund us the portion that was mistaken- our basil beef came as basil chicken, spicy when it was ordered mild and our cashew chicken dish was missing altogether. My fiancé found a bone in his pad Thai... (really glad it was him and not our toddler who was eating some of the noodles) also the flavour just wasn’t all that great, watery green curry. The basil chicken that was wrong wasn’t what I expected either it didn’t have a taste of basil at all. I wish I had better things to say but unfortunately this was a major miss for us for lots of reasons and all I seemed to find was amazing reviews so I was surprised. I’d order from Thai...

As someone who loves asian cuisine, is a chef and have eaten in most major and small cities in Canada, this was a pleasant surprise. Everything had lots of flavour and tasted delicious.

As I'm only passing through I'm saddened I won't get to try more of the menu.

I'd recommend this place to both locals and not.

I'd also recommend actually going into the restaurant as the food quality is not the same for delivery especially with fried noodle and vegetable dishes.

Portion size was large per dish which is perfect for sharing so you can order...

Salween did it again!

Their chicken pad thai was pure comfort on a plate, perfectly balanced, not too sweet, not too spicy, just chef’s kiss. The peanut sauce? Let’s just say if I could bottle it and drink it with a straw, I would. And the spring rolls? Crispy little golden miracles that disappeared faster than my willpower on cheat day.

It wasn’t just a meal, it was a full-on party in my mouth… and everyone was invited.

Highly recommend if you’re craving food that makes you close your eyes and do a happy dance...
