Korner Perk — Restaurant in Tillsonburg

In town visiting family and thought we would check this spot out for breakfast. The lady who greeted us was very friendly and helpful. We ordered 2 BLT sandwiches with cheese, a side of home fries(Which came as chips that were either raw or over cooked), also an egg Benedict.

We did take out, got home and realized our BLT sandwiches were missing lettuce and we didn’t have our side order of “home fries”, we called about having the issue corrected because we ordered BLT’s and didn’t have lettuce at home. When we returned to the restaurant the lady behind the counter asked if we just wanted them to add lettuce because the back area was very backed up. She spoke to us as if we had inconvenienced them, when in fact it just should have been done correctly in the first place. We ended up taking lettuce in a container and putting it on ourselves because we would have had to wait while our other food was at home getting cold. Further more the eggs Benedict was extremely runny, hollandaise tasted like there was vinegar in it and it was over all sloppily put together. Walked in and we were seated pretty quickly. The lady serving us was very pleasant and attentive. For the price it was pretty good value compared to other family restaurants we've tried in the past, and no complaints about the food. Large cups for coffee and very attentive with refills which was great compared to other restaurants. One thing to note is that coffee is included in some of the prices for meals, which is great since most times it is a separate charge.

Service unfortunately lacked in the area where we didn't receive our food for 30+ minutes after ordering. We weren't notified of the excess wait time until our food was almost out. Things happen, I get it, since we weren't the only ones waiting, but would've been nice to know sooner. To be fair, they did let new patrons know about the excess wait time afterwards, so maybe it just got super busy for them while we were waiting. Atmosphere was ok, but loud and a bit cool inside. Would recommend sitting in the enclosed area if you can.

We were camping in the area and our family likes to go for a hot breakfast on our way home as a treat. It was Sunday and this was one of only a handful of places for breakfast as most other places were closed. Though there was a tonne of waitstaff, we were told it would be 30 minutes to get food AFTER we got seated. Since there really wasn't much choice, we stuck it out and regretted it. We watched others get beautiful plates of food. We eventually got sad, abysmal portions. My husband's 3 egg omlette would fit on a tea saucer and hard-pressed to find peppers in that "Western". Though we were there close to noon, french fries were not available for my daughter's grill cheese "because it is Sunday". "Homefries" were 4 lousy thin slices of potatoes that were barely cooked. I felt sick all day after eating what was supposed to be poached eggs on english muffin. I guess if you are a local you get proper food and service. Never, ever, ever again....
