Used to be great however, now it's horrible. Staff was different. I will never ever return here again due to her behaviour and this used to be our to go place. Asked for the usual which is well done beef with tendon. There was beef but no tendon. Proceeded to tell her that there is no tendon in our dish. She did not believe us and kept telling us that tendon dissolves in the water when it boils... Told her that is not true because we have been there multiple times and other times we could chew on the freaking tendon. She then proceeded to grab the chopsticks from our bowl and check with her hands for tendon....horrifying ....I was disgusted...she then started SCREAMING to the kitchen guy about our food.... Then she came back and said something that we could not figure out. Therefore, I approached our server and told her again there was no tendon in our pho. The order lady heard and came next to me literally and me in starts questioning me in an intimidating manner about what I told our server!!!! What the.... So I told her again in a very clear explanation that there was no tendon. She told me she asked her brother who is the cook in their kitchen and he said he put tendon in there. She then proceeded to tell us that her brother would never lie to her and tried to explain to me again the process of how the tendon dissolves. So I asked her if she thinks we are lying...she said she doesn't know....oh gosh....at this point we just gave up. Did not finish my pho...barely touched it...paid and left while she was bad mouthing us in her language. Will never ever come back again. I am going to make a call to health inspection about other issues I had with them this time. Oh and honestly I don't know what they changed in the way they made pho...but it did not taste as good as before despite the tendon...

I have been supporting this business for about 10 years. Having grown up in the area, it was the go-to place for my friends and family. I have many memories here and the food is decent.

Since I saw a lot of reviews about this restaurant charging more than what is listed on the menu/being greedy (e.g., being charged for an extra bowl, onions, raised price for takeout.), I was curious and decided to pay attention to how much my final bill was after dining in (i.e., keeping track of how much item was). Despite factoring in tax and paying cash (since I have seen reviews that they charge more if you use credit card), I was still overcharged. I understand that it is important to support local small businesses... however, even if they are struggling, us customers would likely understand if you need to raise the price for your items and reflect this change on a new menu - but what is not right is sneaking in charges, hoping customers do not find out. The menu that you provide to us when we are seated should be accurate and honest.

Before this dine-in experience, I would like to add that I also did take-out for 1 XL special pho. They list $12.75 as the price for this item and I was charged about over $15 when it was picked up. The reason why I never noticed this was because I never saw the menu until yesterday when I dined in and the above happened. It's not about the money to be honest, it was just how it was inaccurate and did not reflect their current menu price. This adds up if they do this for all of their customers.

I am very disappointed. I will NOT be coming back and will be letting my friends and family know. This review is to share my experience...

It has been a long time since I came back here. It was always good before. However, I think in the future, this is a place I will not be visiting anytime anymore.

I had ordered the large chicken noodle soup. The taste of the soup has changed and there is no long any flavour to the soup, just the taste of salt. The garnish dish of bean sprouts, basil leaves, green chilies and lime was gross, especially since the lime had already been used by someone else as it showed signs of being squeezed! I think DineSafeTO needs to look into this place.

Then when I went to pay with debit, their machine takes TAP, Swipe, and Chip insert. My card does not have the TAP function and so, the machine recognized this and requested me to Chip insert or Swipe to which I choose the former. On the receipt print out - merchant copy, it said that TAP failed and Chip insert was paid. My Customer copy also noted that it was a successful transaction and that I had paid. Then the lady at the counter and the owner indicated that I had not paid. I then proceeded to show them that I had paid as the Customer Copy indicated that I did. They both then proceeded to ask me to see if there was a way I could show them on my bank statement I had paid. This is ridiculous as it is personal information, and if I didn't have access to technology to show that I paid, I would have to pay again. Luckily for me, I had access to technology to show that I had paid and proceeded to show them. Much to their chagrin as I think they didn't even understand what I had shown them was that I had paid.

Needless to say, I was not happy with...

Pho connoisseur here. Last time I visited was about ~15 years ago. From what I recall back then to what I experienced tonight, unfortunately I need to report a decrease in value. I ordered a small rare beef and tendon pho. The portion size was on the smaller size of small. They served green chillies, bean sprouts, lime and basil on the side, no sawtooth cilantro. The service was fairly quick - I ordered, went to the bathroom to wash my hands, and came back - no less than 30 seconds later my order was brought to my table. At the table side are tissues, chopsticks, spoons, sriracha, hoisin, and chili oil. No sauce dishes. The sriracha was in a generic bottle that they refill, but it tasted like authentic Huy Fong. Now on to the pho itself: the portion size was small. Toppings were minimal as was the amount of noodles. I purposely ordered a small to satisfy my craving but was left looking for a little bit more. The pho was also dressed with a minimal amount of onions and green onions - looking at the photos from other reviews, my bowl had obviously less garnish. The rare beef appeared to have been flash cooked in the kitchen as opposed to rare/red and allowing the broth to cook. The tendon was nice and soft, but only about 5 small pieces in my bowl. The soup base was good - hot and tasty. Rating of 3 stars - average but deducted a star for poor value. My small pho costed $15 plus tip, $17.25 total - simply not good value for money. I heard the staff speaking Cantonese instead of Vietnamese.

Positives: - Opens late at night - Got a table without waiting - seems to be a regular spot for residents in the neighborhood - well run restaurant with good operations routine, ie. menu ready, stack of order sheets under table, utensils and sauces on the table, napkins well stocked, clean table and chairs - clean washroom - the lady who looks like the manager/ owner is super nice and friendly. - pho broth was good Not so positive ( reasons for from 5 star to 3 star): - rude serving lady, no smile, puts down the food at the corner of the table and expects the guests to take care of themselves. Her acknowledgment of our request is just a stare. No response when we say thank you. Maybe she is overworked and it’s been a long day. - my favourite Vietnamese quick meal is vermicelli because it’s light and delicious, implying that I have had a lot of vermicelli so I know what is vermicelli. I ordered spring roll & chicken vermicelli, well the vermicelli I got was not vermicelli, it was rice noodles, the thicker kind of rice noodles which made the dish more starchy and heavier. - same rice noodles were used in pho and spring rolls… those who know would know that they are supposed to be different - fried spring roll tasted doughy, not enough filling and the filling had a lot of carrots. The fresh spring roll was not tasty, the wrong rice noodles again made it taste very dense.

I've been going to this place for the past 10 years and I have seen a steady decline in their service and quality. The owner has become greedy for money and gives unreasonable prices for the quantities of food. These photos show a large satay beef bowl for takeout- literally the size of my hand, a $14.50 meal. I clearly ordered an extra-large on the phone, however, when I took it home, it turned out to be a large. I called her back and she said I ordered a large with attitude. I understand prices increase due to inflation and COVID, but their portions have decreased significantly and the owners are now ruder than ever. Nothing is worth the price anymore; I understand that there's a pandemic, but compared to other restaurants, they're still giving reasonable and consistent quantities of food. My family has eaten at this restaurant for so long and their bad service has broken me. I've given them countless chances to redeem themselves, even before COVID, hoping that the next takeout order would be better than the previous. I've thought about writing this review for so long but today was the last straw. Utter disappointment is what I feel currently. I am upset with what she and her restaurant have become. What an appropriate end to 2020. Merry Christmas.
