I did not want to write a bad review, but here it is (warning, it is long).
I WAS a regular here for about 2 years. I would go every week, sometimes a couple of times a week. My recent experiences have been negative. I will not be going again and here is why:
Out of the 2 years that I have been coming here, I have never had a hair in my food…. until a couple of months ago. It was long and white/blonde (I am brunette and so are most of the girls that work there). At first I thought it was a strand of cheese, but no. I decided to let that one go and not say anything because things happen.
Then, shortly after, I went again. There were two people ahead of me and we were being checked out after our burritos were on the grill. The girl who was checking us out took her gloves off to check us out, that was fine, but then her coworker came to her complaining about all the mosquito bites she had on her arm. The girl checking us out then started touching her arm with the bites on it, touching cash, and she also scratched her head. I didn’t care at the time because I figured she would put gloves on when packing our burrito’s, but she didn’t! She didn’t even wash her hands. She packed the guys burrito’s, but lucky for me a male coworker in the back packed mine up with gloves on.
I emailed the company on there “contact us” section on their website almost 2 months ago because I was upset and didn’t want this to continue. I asked that they make sure their employee’s wear gloves when packaging the burrito’s and the girls should either wear their hair in buns (as opposed to a pony tail for those with long hair) or hair nets. No response. That is ok, I figured maybe they spoke to their employees.
So, I went again, giving it one more chance. They were busy at this time because it was lunch. However, the girls were still touching money (dirty), not washing their hands after, and packing up burrito’s. The owner was there this time while all this was happening and didn’t say anything or seem to care. I still have no response today regarding my concern which is quite upsetting on a customer service stand point, especially for a regular customer..
I am really disappointed because this place used to be really good and I was a loyal customer. Due to the lack of response or action being taken to resolve this issue, I will not be going...
Read moreThey make burritos very well. Toppings are fresh and tasty, burritos are not overloaded and breaking apart. Whole wheat tortilla option and the supreme fries are delicious too.
2018-01-19 It's unfortunate but after repeated noticable drops in quality of service I had to update this review. The food is still great and I would still recommend it for eating but fair warning you may have to deal with a frustrating process.
Tip: If you order for pickup, ensure that they provide a timeframe I have come in to pick up orders which were not started. On a separate occasions, ordered a whole wheat burrito, recieved a burrito on white tortilla (they made it again which I appreciate but I would rather not have them go through the hassle of remaking it), and finally, orders sometimes came out wrong, chicken when asked for steak.
I am constantly asked what my order was when I get to the register, they take the order and have it written on the bags, but don't know what it was when I go to pay. This sort of thing doesn't happen at other burrito restaurants.
It seems that the business, due to nearby growth in the area, is picking up. However, this location just doesn't seem to be keeping up (the Markham location is definitely better service wise but there is less traffic there from what I have noticed).
I hope your experience...
Read moreIt’s a shame how much this place fell in quality. The original owners held this place with lots of integrity and pride. Food was awesome, service was great when it first opened up. However, I walked into this restaurant recently and it smelt like feet. It has been a while since i visited so I decided to get their supreme fries anyway as I always have gotten. I waited 20 minutes for just french fries and some already prepared toppings. Customers who came in after me, took 10 minutes to decide what to get and still got their foods before me. The workers excuse was the chef is deaf in one ear, therefore he didn’t hear my order when communicated to him. This is why you have a printer for the kitchen, incorporated with the POS. I wasn’t acknowledged the whole time standing there even though Ive made eye contact with the 2 idiots at the front desk several times. Even though they’ve realized their chef didn’t start my order, they couldn’t even apologize to me or assure to me that my food will be ready in a moment. As for the food, one word: SLOPPY. The chef touching his hair and face while cooking my food. You guys need training. Let me know when...
