The lady is always stressed out about prepping the food and gets impatient and agitated by anyone coming in. How about coming in early enough before opening so you can do that instead of transferring that stress to your customers? I really want to like this place and I've been multiple times, but it's not worth it for the mistreatment. The first time I went, she yelled at my father just for watching her cook and told him to sit down. He wasn't trying to bother her and he wasn't trying to talk to her. My father worked in the restaurant business in the past and he understood the pressure she's feeling. We are just there waiting for the food and we had no issue waiting as long as it's going to take. Yet she assumed since we wanted to look around that we are as annoyed as she is. And don't blame your customers coming in as a distraction. I saw how she treated other people too, it was the same level of disrespect. If my family wants to eat here then I prefer to order it on Ubereats and let the delivery drivers deal with her attitude.
I like the concept of the lunch boxes and she puts a lot of care into it but if it's at the expense of being rude to customers, it's not worth it. It's overly charred and salty anyways compared to other places. I know this place isn't new and that's how you're used to doing things, but have some god damn compassion for people and understand you're the one putting pressure on yourself. Most people will wait and not have an issue with it. It's a blessing to have more customers than you can keep up with, and if people are willing to wait then they are willing to wait. You don't need to be so impatient at people trying to support...
Read moreMy partner was excited to try this Korean restaurant she found online. The location is just right before the midland, and it’s easily visible from the road. However, the dining area is limited to two small chairs facing the street, so it’s definitely a takeout place.
We ordered the special combo #1, which included pork bone soup, japchae, and tteok-bokki, along with a side of rice. The food was simply amazing. The kamjatang, a rich and meaty soup, had a perfect balance of flavours and just the right amount of spice. My only complaint is that there wasn’t much soup, but there was plenty of meat!
The japchae was also very good, with a delightful balance of sweet and salty flavours. It’s a simple dish, but don’t be fooled by its simplicity. And lastly, the tteok-bokki was a special version that my partner usually makes when you order the combo. It includes seafood, but unfortunately, I couldn’t try it due to my shellfish allergy. However, my partner raved about it, saying it was pretty good.
The combo only includes one side of rice, so you’ll definitely need an extra if you’re sharing. But there’s also the japchae, which is a great option. The owner told us that the side dishes change every day, and with the combo, you get to choose three. All of the choices we made were simply amazing.
Overall, this is a hidden gem of Korean food. It’s only takeout, so be mindful of that. The owner was incredibly friendly and it’s clear that she prepares the food on the day of. We’ll definitely be back when we want to grab a quick Korean...
Read moreWe love Korean Food and have tried many places and this cozy restaurant is our absolute go-to. Please note the flavour here is very strong and intense so if you're into it, it's impossible for you to resist the temptation.
Our usual orders include the Rice Bowl Special Short Rib and the Rice Cake. The Rice Cake is a perfect balance of softness and chewiness, enhanced by the spicy sauce and fish cakes. Similarly, the Rice Bowl Special steals the show with its combination of bean rice, authentic Korean short rib, daily-changing homemade side dishes, and the owner's sauces, creating a harmonious and flavourful experience.
This restaurant is run by only one lady, who manages everything from taking orders to cooking and cleaning, please be understanding and patient. With unbeatable prices, top-quality meals, and the owner's dedication to great service, this place is truly a hidden treasure.
Best tip we can give you is call ahead at least 20 minutes before arriving for a timely, delightful meal. Highly...
