Not one to give a bad review, especially to a family-owned restaurant like this one but I feel like the owners need to hear this. I loved the vibe of this restaurant, it kind of felt like I was in El Salvador when I walked in. My girlfriend (she is Salvadorian) and I were very excited to try their pupusas. Their pupusas are honestly fantastic compared to other restaurants we’ve tried. Their salsa is definitely a bit lack lustre and somewhat diluted but does the trick. We also got their bria tacos, a breakfast dish, and their carne asada which was nothing special but tasty nonetheless. Now the bad, there was a cooked bug (looked like a cockroach) in our carne asada. We literally could not believe it. The restaurant looked fairly clean but there was unmistakably a cooked bug in our dish. We showed one of the waitresses the bug and she took our dish to the kitchen saying she wanted to show the cook the bug. When she comes back out she said the cook didn’t see it and was hesitant to take responsibility. We politely assured her it was buried beneath the rice and to that she said the dish would be free. When it came to pay she ended up charging us for the dish (half-eaten before we saw the bug) which we only realized on our drive out when we wondered why our bill was so high. All in all, we really wanted to like this place but a cooked bug completely ruined our appetite and the way the restaurant dealt with the issue led me to sharing...
Read moreI got the beef tacos, 3 pupusas, and horchata. The beef was a bit tough, but the tacos as a whole were delicious. Same for the pupusas, which were still burning hot when they arrived. The packaging they do for takeout/delivery is a bit odd, but not a bad thing. I just didn't expect for the curtido and tomato sauce to come in plastic bags, haha. But I appreciate that they separated everything. Horchata was also put in a quart container instead of a takeout cup. But in the end I could still drink out of it, and it was delicious, so who cares.
Will for sure be ordering the pupusas and horchata again, but will try a different taco.
Edit: I ordered from here again, and got the chicken tacos this time. They were inedible. 🤢 The chicken looked like mush, and tasted like it. There was no flavour, except from the cilantro and onions (and lime juice I squeezed on). They were also ice cold, which makes me believe they are not fresh. Even after zapping them in the microwave I couldn't finish, and ended up throwing them out. What a waste of money. The pupusas were HOT, so I know the cold tacos weren't caused by time or how the delivery driver stored them.
Stay tuned to see if I get food poisoning!
P.S. The horchata and pupusas were still bomb. But seeing as the tacos were a bust both times, I won't be ordering from...
Read moreFirst all, they got my order wrong and made me pay for a 30$ meal when my order was only 10$. When I approached the owner about it she said they would refund me my money back. They scammed me and took my money and gave me my 10$ food. When I walked in there was food all over the floor, and it’s very evident that they do not clean their restaurant. I’m assuming all your customers are friends because not ONE person in the entire restaurant was wearing a mask, not even the cooks or cashier. There was about 6 young children running around the entire restaurant with no masks. Not only that they are illegally allowing 4 people to indoor dine during a stay at home order. They laughed in my face when I told them they got my order wrong she said she knew she gave me the wrong meal and over charged me and never even thought to run outside to tell me. Their sketchy debit card machine that supposedly refunded my debit card did not give me my money back. She knew what she was doing and took my money. I am warning you now, PLEASE DO NOT EAT HERE. It’s unhygienic,...
