Duhok Shawarma — Restaurant in Toronto

I discovered Red and White when they first opened almost 20 years ago. Smart phones and google reviews werent even a thing lol. I lived in an apartment just down the street.. single guy so it was a quick fix for a great price.. feels like it was a different life lol.

The shawarma here, was hands down the best I've had in Toronto.. I think it was my first shawarma too.. this is the kind of meal you want and could eat daily. There was no getting tired of it, it was that good.

Since then, I've moved, had kids, started my own business.. i've had LOT'S of shawarma from all different restaurants from all nationalities hoping, praying even to find another shawarma that was close and ive had some almost as good, but I've yet to find a place that can put together such a delicious shawarma as you get here.

A lot has changed in almost two decades since I came across this place.. and as luck would have it, I was in the area the area this afternoon. imagine the excitement when I saw Red and White still there! It had changed owners though.. naturally I asked myself "will it be the same?" I rolled the dice, ordered a wrap with everything on it like i always did, and AMEN! I was a 20 year old again.. the nostalgia.. it brought back some great memories with just one bite.. if youre wondering.. YES it was just as good as the first time.. I just finished mine and I'm ready for another.. I don't know what they put in it, but it's DAMN DELICIOUS! If you're in the area, treat yourself. Great price for a big wrap, but all the plates are generous servings.

Disclaimer: you won't be able to enjoy a shawarma anywhere else after this. So be ready for that..

A way i like to describe dishes with this kind of flavour is to say "itll make your mouth orgasm" lol.. yeah. It's that good. Don't take my word for it. The worst that'll happen is you'll be disappointed.. that you didnt try this sooner or that Red and White isn't closer to your home.. I know I am 😮‍💨

I went to this restaurant to pick up my Doordash delivery, I showed the lady my phone (the order). She starts preparing it, when someone already prepared it and it was sitting there. She tried charging me for it when the delivery was already paid for by the customer. Eventually, they weren’t willing to give me the order and Doordash canceled my delivery. She then came out to my car and said her boss said I have to pay for it, when it was her fault. Because I told her I showed her the order and she made the mistake, she started cursing me extremely nasty telling me to never come back. Wow! They definitely need training in mannerism. Yikes! Definitely do not recommend!!!
