The first time I went to A&W was to try out the vegetarian BEYOND BURGER. I tried the first BEYOND BURGER at the Broadview and Danforth location. I thought while eating this burger that the burger is just delicious. But after I finished eating it there was a bit of aftertaste from the melted cheese that was in the burger that tasted like somebody has not washed their hands before preparing the burger. So I was not that pleased about that. The BEYOND BURGER is also very expensive - you can buy 4 or 6 veggie burgers at the health food store for around the same price as one veggie burger at A&W. I received a 50% off coupon on my next purchase of the veggie BEYOND BURGER however I haven't been able to use the coupon at the time I would have liked because apparently the BEYOND BURGER was so popular that they somehow sold out of it from its popularity. So the second time I tried a veggie burger was when I could not use my 50% coupon and that was at the A&W location somewhere around Yonge St. and Richmond or Adelaide. The burger tasted delicious. I was told however, that it is not the BEYOND BURGER that I am tasting - the BEYOND BURGER is still sold out. I was told that the veggie burger they have available for me to eat is still vegetarian and it is a temporary substitute. So since I was very hungry, I bought the substitute and ate it and I thought it tasted good. I don't recall an after taste after eating it. The third time around however, a couple of months later, I used my 50% coupon at the A&W location on Pape and Danforth. The burger I was eating was the veggie BEYOND BURGER however it was not heated up and there was no melted cheese in it. I don't know why. I did not request no cheese. The burger was given to me right away even though I said I will be eating the burger in the A&W. I received the BEYOND BURGER packaged in a paper bag in less than 1 minute. The BEYOND BURGER veggie patty this time resembled the texture and look of tempeh but tasted similar to that of a McDonald's Happy Meal hamburger from the flavor of the condiments in it. What I was really unhappy about the BEYOND BURGER I received at this location was the aftertaste tasted vulgar. Like as if a female had handled her private parts and forgotten to wash her hands. It was this last burger from A&W where I made my decision not to buy another burger from A&W. The veggie BEYOND BURGER contains 30g of fat anyway which I think is a beyond a reasonable amount of fat for one veggie burger patty to behold. The receipt I received by the way, for purchasing the veggie burger stated my purchase as "1 Open Misc. Sale: ...

I was just passing through the area and not a regular customer so maybe this behaviour is rare but when I entered the store, there was no line and 1 person behind the cash register looking at the screen. I said, "hello" and was ignored by the employee and she walked away (later saw her leaving so I assume she was ending her shift when I entered). She did not acknowledge my prescence to even say 'someone will be with you shortly' or 'hello' when I said hello.

Then I stepped back and waited for someone else to come. I was looking around the store and when I came back to the register there was another employee standing there looking down at her phone. I was standing in front of her for about 60 seconds before she looked up from her phone and said, 'can I help you?' in a way that seemed like I was wasting her time.

She had a look on her face like she didn't want to be there and an attitude as if I had annoyed her and she just wanted to get the order over with. No courtesy, no smile, no greeting, no professionalism. The managers of this location were not present at the time but they have not been doing a great job training their employees on customer service and professionalism.

I do not recommend this...

Worse and disgusting crew,I come for a morning breakfast with confidence to start my morning positive, I came 9:45 am at march 24 2025 i wanna be specific to this crew I order a sauger egger on a bun which supposed to have egg and before realizing my order is incorrect I have a but of argument with that female crew who doesn't wear gloves touching everything without washing her hands which she's wearing ring and nails I ask her why she doesn't wear glove which preferring my food she said A&W policy that they shouldn't wear gloves which i get it but at least wash their hands she's touching raw burger and touch the bun, touch here touch there with the same hands with nails,bracelets and ring, I'm not trying to be racist but those brown people bring their disgusting culture here not very hygienic way of serving food I do not recommend this branch and I'm sure I will not coming back there ever I just throw the food they make because I ask to cancel the order and they won't let me.
