A&W Canada — Restaurant in Toronto

On Thursday 11th October 2018 at 10:08 pm on the drive thru the machine didn't answer for 5 mins and finally a lady came up on the call to answer and whilst we were ordering she rudely and conveniently disappeared.

For the next 7-8 mins no body attended the drive thru. Upset and fuming we drove up to the delivery window and as we started to complain the lady shamelessly smiled at us completely unapologetic and said the battery of her headset went out and thats it. The staff in there had no courtsey to come out and inform people on the drive thru. She found every excuse possible but did not show an ounce of remorse for the inconvenience caused. She even said the customer before us confused her while ordering ...are you serious? You are blaming the other customer for your shortcomings??!! What happened to the customer service let alone customer delight or satisfaction?!

They are always grossly understaffed. This is not the first time at this location that it happened. Last time I ordered a habanero with bacon and they gave me a regular chubby chicken without the bacon.

A&W is the finest fast food brand in Canada and I am an ardent fan. However, locations or franchisee's like these will ruin the A&W brand perception in the long run. I already feel very disappointed and disconnected...

Rude staff, poor food safety standards, unhygienic! Had to ask for ice at the counter because the soda machine was out of ice and the incoherent clerk insisted that it was not. He insisted that I was wrong and decided to walk out from behind the counter to verify that I was telling the truth by testing the machine himself (as if I did not know how to use an ice machine and pour myself a drink).

When he verified that the machine was empty, he finally agreed to give me some ice but unfortunately the ice scoop was FILTHY! He slammed the cup on the counter but I decided to skip the ice and asked for a different cup but the clerk said he cannot give me a different cup because I paid for the one he gave me and the scoop just had some soda on it. The soda on the scoop however was dry indicating that the scoop had not been cleaned in a while. I wish I could hire the guy just to tell him he's worthless and FIRE him!

They would not provide a refund so I took the food and left it outside as I could not trust that I was getting my meal without spit from the filthy clerk and his manager who asked me what I was "going to do about it" and that I "should call the police". If A&W actually monitors these reviews, please investigate this location

I recently visited A&W and had a fantastic dining experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and friendly atmosphere. The staff were incredibly polite and efficient, making sure that every customer felt welcome.
