Alexandros Take-Out — Restaurant in Toronto

Dont know much about greek food. Tried out alexandros cause i always walk by their restaurant on my walks. Nice eating area out front, with benches and tables and chairs. I ordered the chicken souvlaki with greek salad. The salad itself is nothing special BUT, ... they made the salad with alot of tomato slices - alot !!! I swear they used at least half a medium sized tomato if not more. I really appreciate this cause whenever i visit a middle eastern restaurant, they give you hardly any tomato in your salad. I find that in all the middle eastern restaurants... so its nice to have a salad which has alot of tomato slices ! Well done ! The chicken was well cooked with at least half the pieces nicely caramelized with crunchy edges - i love chicken cooked in that fashion. And lastly, there was adequate feta and alot of dressing. Since i ate all the salad first, i had just enough dressing left to enjoy with the chicken. The order was packaged well, and included a small container of i guess tzatziki sauce, plus a complete set of plastic cutlery. Well visit again when im in the mood for chicken and a salad.

My favorite Greek restaurant and the staple of whenever I visit Danforth. The beautiful water fountain, the Greek stage for performers to garner an audience with. Now, a shallow takeover of Indians who definitely changed the recipe and made the place absolutely smelly.....

Racist review? Sure, it sounds like it, but these guys don't offer the same authenticity of the place it once had. I threw up because they added some different spices to their Greek fries and their chicken souvlaki.

While the place looks the same, the staff are super friendly, and keeping the name of Alexandros alive make the place really special - I can't go back in good faith that they've ruined the food. You visit restaurants for the food, not the people, sadly.

The place has lost a supporter - an avid fan of the chain - due to some really bad recipe changes. I'm sorry for the negative review, but it's a shame a lot of places are changing recipes due to take over of inauthentic practices...

The food is nothing to write home about. I find it expensive fir what you get. I paid $8.50 for a cheese burger which consisted of a small puck like frozen patty. My daughter had requested lettuce, tomato, pickle and Ketchup as her garnishes. Well you had to search for these items. I order the chicken souvlaki dinner. It consisted of 2 chicken skewers but the where not chicken souvlaki just plain chicken on a skewer without any spices. I opted for rice, and that's exactly what I received plain rice with no sauce or flavoring of any kind. I can save that the salad was okay. So for an inedible chicken nit soyvlak8 dinner, a hockey puck frozen patty cheeseburger and a Greek salad my order was $45 wasted. Normally I do not post negative reviews as I feel they hurt small businesses but with things getting so expensive people can't afford to waste their money on subpar food. Especially when they are on a tight budget and are trying to treat their families...
