I've been coming to Christina's for years, always hoping on an opportunity to dine here while in the city.
Last Saturday we dined with you and we felt like an inconvience. Can you imagine dining out and feeling this way?
We were sat at 5:45 on Saturday on the patio, one of the first tables to be sat out there. Greeted with water.. tried to place our drink but was informed our server would be right with us.... He never came.
I approach the host just trying to figure out timing on how this dinner would play out, we had a 7:30 show - a 2 minute walk up the road to attend. Server finally arrives, we place our drink order and for close to 30 minutes we sat with no drinks.
The experience just continued like this throughout the entire evening. Couldn't have an Expresso Martini - Could have an Expresso martini. Expresso Martini made differently than describe on menu, clearly by colour you could see this. 1 drink = 30 minutes. Move past the drink.. and how the drinks were even delivered seemed off. They "hit" the table. My friend jumped it was so off and abrupt.
We ordered the flaming cheese. No presentation was made towards us the ones who ordered it, instead the cheese was lite on fire with his back to us clearly presenting it to everyone else? Why though? Those people had already ordered 3!!!
Fried zuchini needs better plating and presentation. Digging thru all your zuchinis to get the the dip at the bottom makes no sense.
Chicken Souvlaki - • flavour was there. •presentation was missed. Kinda look like it hit the plate and we just moved on with it like that.
There's was no time left for dessert so I have no comment.
There's was no service ever given.
Billing was an issue - we simply wanted to spit it evenly, which we did the math for and the eye roll we received was comical . Like I didn't see it?
My sincerest apologies to the server for the inconvience we may have cause you sitting out of section it seemed. You expressed many times we were running you ragged. I just wanted service in three easy steps.
Hi.. How are you? Drinks.
Appies/Dinner?
Here's the bill.
90 minutes in and out.
Honestly I thought we were super kind and understanding. Just two people, enthusiastically looking forward to a dinner at Christina's and a show on the Danfourth. However next time. I'll pass. The experience filled my cup enough to move on. That's the great thing about the Danfourth, you don't have to choose Christina's for Greek there's tons of choices.. but I consistently choose Christina's until last Saturday.
For such a great gem of a place to enjoy, it was a miss...
Read more0/10 stars. Went to this restaurant to dine in during the taste of danforth and was the worst service I have ever had in my life. Granted it was during a very busy time due to the festival, and I could tell the tensions were high with the staff, but that is no excuse for being blatantly ignored by every single server while other tables are being serviced who came in after us. It was so bad to the point where a food runner felt bad for us, and took our order/served us. It took them 45 minutes to take our order after being seated, we asked around 2-3 times for a server to come to our table, no one came until we asked a food runner to bring a server over, he got on that right away and told someone but not one came so he ended up taking our order. So after we placed our order it took another 45 minutes to get our calamari appetizer which was horrible and cost $26 for only 6-7 pieces. Then it took another 30-40 minutes to bring our mains just as we were about to leave and put money on the table for the calamari, I see the servers rush to give us our mains. My chicken Slovakia was burnt to the point where I didn’t even enjoy my meal. To top off my experience when I asked a server, serving the table beside us for our bill, he was asking who served us and we told him it was a food runner who took our order since no one came up to us. He then began raising his voice being like “who took your order?!” We we’re baffled as to why he was raising his voice at customers who’ve done nothing but been patient with this whole experience. As a server, you should go an figure out who took our order rather than raising your voice at customers. Finally a manager I believe took our payment and she was cold and made us feel even more unwanted. I am very shocked at my experience here, I never been bluntly ignored like this. Everyone was being serviced at this restaurant but us, it felt as if it was very targeted. Never...
Read moreIf I could give zero star, I would... On the Father's day we ordered a seafood plater. It's not our first time getting this. We had the same seafood plater back in Feb and it was always delightful. However, this time is super awful:
The mussels were clearly rotten as many of them were not complete mussels, they smell and taste both rotten. I can't imagine any restaurants in the world that would be serving rotten seafood to customers!
The same problems existed with the lobster. First of all they were very small and some parts were turning black...
In February the restaurant provided the tools needed to eat the lodster, the shell cracker and the small fork to open the lobster/mussels, but this time we had to ask for the utensils and they said they don't have any... which might make sense as the food was all rotten so we didn't need them to eat them at the end...
There were also a lot of food flies at our table. It's not even a hot/humid summer time. Either because the food was rotten and it attracted the flies, or there is a serious hygiene problem in the restaurant... or both!
We asked for hot water and the waiter said there's no hot water in the restaurant....
We used to think Christinas is one of our fav restaurant in Greektown. However something must have gone wrong with the management. On the father's day we saw most of the neighboring restaurants were packed but including us there were only 4 tables of customers in Christinas! Looks like they are closing down or something.
I still can't believe that we had to spend over $100 for rotten food!!! I would NEVER go back to this...
