I have to add that this store has now come into disfavor for me!

This past Easter, i patronized the store to purchase Easter Buns and was shocked by the following:

The store chose to not provide bags for purchases! Imagine, it is Easter time, so the majority of customers it is reasonable to say would be buying more than 1 bun. I witnessed, while I was in line, a customer with a large order who when told that there were no bags enquired if there is a box that they could give her and the curt response by the bespectaled Asian woman, 30ish who looks as if she was in charge because the other staff would refer questions about product availabilities, gave a curt answer to the question and seems to want to move to the next person in line while the customer was trying to arrange the items to take them out of the store and another customer assisted her.

A friend went back to the store 2 weeks later and still no bags were available for the purchases!

This is just horrible treatment and disrespectful of customers and

(2) Noting that the majority of the customers are black, how come of all the cashiers working that day including women who seemed as if they were grandmothers were all Asian; however, there was not one person of color?

Friendly and efficient service Clean environment Social distancing protocols were followed Amazed not only about the moderate prices of the merchandise, in comparison to other Caribbean brands/estsblishments, but slso about the quality of the food (patties, bullah and coconut cake). I was a die hard Randy"s Patty aficionado but now it will be no longer the case, even though, I will have to make a trek from TO to Scarborough Do you use tumeric in your crust? This is an update to the review that I posted 6 months ago. I went to the Allen’s Patty location on Kennedy Road on Dec 6th to pick up my order of a dozen plantain tarts, that I had ordered a week before. I was worried that they wouldn’t be ready since I had ordered them a week before. I called the store just before driving over to pick up my order, and it was ready, like Johnny on the spot. I also found out that Karen the previous owner had sold the business, so it’s under new ownership. Karen is one of the nice person ever and she will be missed. However, as the saying goes changes are good, and with the new ownership comes solutions to the 2 issues that I had with this location. The new ownership has now implemented payment by debit and credit card. This is huge because now if i run out of cash I can payment electronically. Before if I ran out of cash I had to drive around to find a near by ATM to withdraw money. This was frustrating for me, and a waste of time.

Previously the store was closed during the lunch hour from 12:00 noon to 1:00 . You are selling an item (i. e patties etc) that is primarily eaten as a lunch cuisine and closed during lunch time. It didn’t make sense to me. I am usually in Markham for business meetings and it’s during the 12:00 noon - 1:00 pm period that I would be available to swing by to pick a few items but, I was unable to do so because they are usually closed during this time. However, with the new ownership the store is now open during lunch time from 12:00 noon to 1 pm. Which I believe is a massive improvement.

So, congratulations and nuff respect to the new owner(s) for recognizing the need for these improvements, and for implementing them...

Ok !! Quality is Back up to What is was Before. Kudos to the New owner for listening to our complaints. You fixed it. I'm a happy customer again !! Easily best patties in my opinion. Patties quality has declined tremendously since new owners took over. Found it strange quality declined so suddenly. I had a feeling was due to new ownership, was proven correct. Less filling in patty, crust crumbling easily. Was my favourite patty spot. Not anymore. I'm so disappointed. Wish they kept the Baker after they bought the business so quality would not drop or change. I hope they can get the Baker back to bring back the best patties they were known for !! For now they lost a long time customer. So I'm looking for another spot I noticed that owner said they have not changed ingredients or process...but cmon, everybody cant be wrong when everyone has basically same complaint about quality now. Same ingredients sure, BUT SAME AMOUNT, SAME PROCESS ? It is definitely not like before. Fix it before customers leave. Thanks for taking time to read my review. I meant the " original Baker" must Be gone as quality has deteriorated. As shared by lot of customers opinions. If original Baker is still there.....quality has still gone down.
