I just went there ONCE to know they really know how to make their mochi donuts. I wanted to try for a long time and I saw my friend in Florida get some (and caused her to be 15 mins late for work XD but she said it was so worth it) and it made me wanna get one! Luckily I found this store by chance and it's not far from home and it coincidentally opened as I was searching up mochi donuts. I decided to check it out! The nice cashier boy was so detail-oriented in explaining to me what flavours they had made today and that he reminded us that it is freshly just made from the back kitchen so it's very warm and chewy! I decided to get the matcha flavour mochidoh and let me tell you when I say IT IS SO WORTH THE PRICE I PAID! My mom wouldn't think so since it's a cash-only place, but I absolutely think so! I like mochi anything, so having it exist IN A DONUT was mind-blowing to me AND it tasted EXQUISITELY OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!!!!! I was shocked to hear they opened a year ago only and I was disappointed to just have found this place now. I love how he recommended some world famous flavours since I was indecisive on knowing what to get. Matcha mochidoh was one of the recommendations he mentioned so I'm glad I purchased the right one! I want to have mochi donuts for my birthday next year May 2024 and I hope I get this wish fulfilled. If my parents don't allow me, Idc I'm coming by myself to buy a box of 6!!!! I want to get them assorted so I can try out their other flavours too! It not only tastes amazing, but the visuals are a bonus! I think if I remember, they have waffles too so I want to try that too next time! It also has stunning visuals! Even if you can't have any (for dietary restrictions or otherwise), you can still look at it! Totally Instagram worthy! I hope they don't close down! COVID caused so many of my favourites to close down because of maintenance so I couldn't go again the second time around!...
Read moreFirst time here and definitely won’t be my last. Probably one of the best if not the best place to get mochi donuts in Toronto/GTA. It’s also conveniently located near Pacific Mall and just out of Markham. We got the Ube, Vietnamese Coffee, Strawberry Crunch, Original Glazed, Matcha, and the Kinako. The ube interestingly enough does not taste like Ube. I got a lot of the coconut instead and so it kinda tastes like the White Chocolate Ferraro Rochers. The Vietnamese coffee is so cute and it comes with a little tube of sweetened condensed milk and you can squeeze it in. It is delicious and definitely has a strong coffee flavour. The strawberry crunch is delicious - definitely out there for you strawberry lovers and sweet tooths. The original glazed is amazing, not much to say but one of the owners there recommended it and said it was his favourite, he didn’t lie! It was delicious and tasted like a regular glazed donut with again the chewy mochi like texture which is definitely achieved with the donuts here. The matcha however I was not expecting to like so much. The perfect balance between the green tea and the sugar is mm, chefs kiss. The kinako is like a peanut taste but without the peanuts. That soybean powder does wonders and I was really thinking they actually put peanuts in there.
Overall, this is amazing. All of their donuts are delicious and the mochi texture, the chew is definitely there. Although they are definitely on the pricey side it is worth it. Please check them out!
$6 dollars each donut $22 for half a dozen $42 for a dozen Lots of these flavours are seasonal and they make them every day fresh so depending on which day and week they may have new...
Read moreFollowed my cousin to this spot, I dived into a feast of Cold Cut Banh Mi, Crispy Pork Banh Mi, and Grilled Chicken Banh Mi, all ordered as combos with Iced Vietnamese Coffee, Iced Thai Milk Tea, and Sugar Cane Juice with Kumquat. Donuts, I had Ube, Strawberry, and Sesame for the win! The overall, let’s just say it’s a mixed bag. The bread was thicker than most places, which might not be everyone’s vibe. The Cold Cut (classic!) is worth a revisit, but the Grilled Chicken had an odd smell, and the Crispy Pork felt like a generic take. Despite the variety of toppings and kicks they offer, they lacked that standout character I was hoping for. The beverages, however, saved the day. The Vietnamese Coffee was bold, soft, and unapologetically perfect, just what I needed to wake up. The Kumquat Sugar Cane Juice was rewarding and refreshing, especially after a hectic week. The Thai Milk Tea, though... no fragrance, no flair, just a regular milk tea in fancy clothes. The donuts were funky and fun! The Ube and Strawberry stood out with vibrant flavors and refreshing aromas. The Sesame, unfortunately, fell flat, too mild to leave an impression. That said, the lightly chewy texture of these donuts is a winner. These are lightly dense yet satisfying, though some might find them a tad oily. I’ll definitely return for the donuts and drinks, but as for the Banh Mi? I’ll stick to the Cold Cut. Worth trying if you’re...
