I come here all the time with my family. If we aren't dining in then we order take out. The service the two boys give are spectacular to the point we are always recognized when we come in or order take out. Today I was very dissatisfied with my order. Usually I am always very happy but today I was confused. The girl that was working today gave me 4 packets of soy sauce and only 1 cup of wasabi for a party tray. Inside the party tray there was only a small dallop of wasabi. A party tray is clearly meant for a lot of people but how is the amount she gave enough? I had to go get my own wasabi and soy sauce afterwards. She also did not pack in any chopsticks. Usually the fish is great but today the sizes were smaller than usual. It is clear that service varies depening on who works that day. This makes me reevaluate when I want to order take out or what days to dine in. Now I usually have no issue at all with this place and I love it a lot, which is why I am a repeat customer. I always recommend the store to my friends.
Edit: I was very disappointed today as it seems that the quality has just been going downhill. I have been going here very often and always order uni and a la carte. I have spent thousands here and used to receive such friendly service from the chef, Peter, and Simon. They would always give us freebies. Now, there are no freebies and the sushi has become extremely thin and the rice inside is small. I used to come here very often with my family because we loved how thick the sushi was and how kind Peter and Simon are. The server asked us when we dined in if we were enjoying our meal and we truthfully told them we were dissatisfied with the quality of the sushi. The server apologized but there was no follow up afterwards. You can't raise the prices while decreasing the size of the fish and lowering service expectations, and expect to keep loyal customers. I wish nothing but the best for this store but as a long time customer, I do not think I will be coming back very...
Read moreWe had know about this place for a while and finally decided to try it. The space was cozy but they also didn’t pack the tables too close together so there’s a lot of comfortable space.
The first thing I have to commend them on is service. When we asked for tea, the waitress was cognizant enough to let us know that the tea has caffeine (as we have a 6 y.o. with us that was also going to have some), so we really appreciated that. Thank you!
For food, we ordered a lot of things (probably just a bit too much), but we wanted to try a bit of everything. We ordered the salmon loveds dinner set, which we thought was really good value. We also got their warm sake + 4 veggie gyoza dinner set. It was a lot of sake. We were expecting a small bottle that was 80% full but instead got a big bottle that was 99% full (see pic).
The tako wasabi was also very good. I love my tako wasabi and this is probably the best place for that IMHO. The presentation was nice, there was a lot of tako wasabi along with other garnishes. What I liked most was that the wasabi wasn’t too overpowering here and I could actually taste the octopus. And at $6 it was tremendous value. 11/10 for me on this appetizer.
If I had to nitpick, I would say that some of the specialty rolls weren’t rolled as tight as I would like and can come apart quite easily. The parking situation also isn’t the greatest, but despite all of that, we still really enjoyed our dinner. Daughter asked if we could come back again soon. Yeah, I...
Read moreAverage Korean run Jap food restaurant. The main attractions I would say are the rolls and sushi. The ambiance is cozy due to its square footage is not as ample. The servers are reasonably responsive and polite. The chef is quick to prepare the orders. And the food tasted good overall. One of my biggest pet peeve that has stopped me from coming was one particularly rude experience that I encountered here....Used to come here for takeouts from time to time, and they used to have a points card that will discount a small amount off the tenth purchase over $20. It had been an incentive for some of my friends as well. However, the owner discontinued without notice to clients. The owner was nice enough to give me an extension when I found out because my card was almost completed. However, the next time I went the counter person told me the card was not valid anymore, despite my repeated request to speak to the owner about the extension that he gave previously, the counter girl took away the card and trashed it. If a business does not honor its words then it’s a business domed to fail. At the every least this...
