I recently had the pleasure of visiting at this hidden gem - Arabesque Cafe. I must say, it was an incredible experience.
First and foremost, the falafel wrap was a true standout. It was not only generously sized but also incredibly flavorful and satisfying. The warm, freshly made falafel wrapped in soft pita bread was a delight for the taste buds.
But what truly sets this place apart is the owner's warmth and hospitality. On my very first visit, he greeted me with a smile and even offered me a complimentary baklava, which was the perfect sweet ending to my meal.
The ambiance of the restaurant is another highlight. It's a cozy spot that exudes a sense of inner peace. The atmosphere is conducive to enjoying your food without distractions, as they kindly request that computer work not be allowed. It's a place where you can fully immerse yourself in the pleasure of a delicious meal.
I can't emphasize enough how much I enjoyed my experience here. Will definitely recommend and...
Read moreIf you're going to get something here please try the "Blood of the Pigeon" it's a sweetened steeped tea with mint and is excellent. As for sandwiches, a personal favourite is the Baba Ghanouj wrap which can get messy. It's stuffed with fresh vegetables, middle eastern pickles and Baba Ghanouj (eggplant tahini [crushed sesame seeds] spread). It's garlicky so beware (although worth the bad breath). I also really like the Manuche Ma'a Khudra which is basically a Zaatar pie (herb and sesame seed coated white bread) stuffed with vegetables and pickles. I think the wraps are better and fresher than the pies or sweets but the baklava is favoured by many patrons. This place has newspapers and some magazines which make it ideal for a leisurely sit down. It's also way less hectic than other cafes where you are subjected to the thunder of constant coffee-preparation. I go here regularly even though I don't live in the...
Read moreThe gentleman working there is very sweet and amiable, we struck up a pleasant conversation. The shop itself is quaint, personable, and has lots of little items, posters, and drawings about that give it a very comfortable and familiar atmosphere. The menu has several wraps and sandwiches with Middle-Eastern recipes, and there are also refrigerated food items available. The first wrap I had was small, which the shopkeep warned me about, so I had Baba Ganoujh wrap after that was more substantial and tastier. Each came with a little tasty pastry treat. Afterwards I had an espresso, which was good but I prefer them to be a little stronger. All of that (two wraps + espresso) cost me $14 total. Was a great experience, I look forward to...
