If your looking for good and authentic Vietnamese food, and don’t mind a more casual setting, Phõ Linh Fine Vietnamese Cuisone restaurant is the place to be. The fact that’s it’s a popular place amongst the Vietnamese community says something about the authenticity of this restaurant. Perhaps this alone merits a visit to Phõ Linh. Phõ Linh is a bit far from the core downtown area of Toronto (if you’re in central downtown Toronto i.e. Yonge-Bloor area, and want good Vietnamese food, Ginger is a hot spot, especially for their phõ) but if you’re in the west end on College street, it’s worth the stop. Phõ Linh is somewhat small, it feels a bit old, and the seating area feels a bit cramped, especially seeing that this restaurant is usually busy and filled to capacity. There’s not much to say about the interior design and decor of this restaurant, definitely something that is lacking in this restaurant, especially seeing that it is a Vietnamese restaurant; the decor and design is as much part of the cultural experience of dining at a Vietnamese restaurant as the food itself. The dining environment is very laid back. The ambiance is perfect if you’re looking to feel a bit of the downtown Toronto vibe. If you don’t know what to order, order a bowl of Phõ (noodle soup with beef, vegetables, with optional basil leaves and bean sprouts). The meals are served with hot or cold tea. You can also try their refreshingly frozen soursop (also available in other flavours like mango, star fruit, lichee, longan, etc) drink if you’re feeling a bit more on the adventurous side. Bad: They don’t offer the convenience of modern payment methods (debit and credit), i.e. cash only, despite the fact that we live in a technologically advanced digital economy.

Every time I come here, I always wonder why I don’t visit more often. They probably have one of the clearest and tastiest chicken broths in Toronto. Since I can’t have beef, finding a good chicken-based pho is always a challenge — but this place delivers every single time. I got so many pieces of tender white chicken meat, and none of it was fatty. The broth is light, flavorful, and deeply comforting. In my opinion, they also make one of the best Banh Cuon (Vietnamese rice rolls) in the city. They’re always made fresh to order, and the pork filling is incredibly tasty and well-seasoned. The service is friendly and attentive, and even though it’s cash only, there’s an ATM inside for convenience. This place is a true local gem - the kind of spot that quietly delivers top-notch, authentic Vietnamese comfort food every time.

The food was OK. Thicker rice noodles and bland soup. But, they tried to have me pay 25% tips by not giving me the change correctly. When i asked for a full change so I could give them back the tips I want(which was still 20%), the cashier guy started delivering an unpleasant attitude and even being rude(as per my friend who saw his attitude from a distance)... Why am i feeling not appreciated or even being unwelcome after i paid 20% tips?! If you want to force guests or insist guests to pay 25% tips, you better start providing some sort of service. When you didn't speak a word to the guests, please do not expect the high tips! I even regret that I gave you 20% after all. You gotta work for it like other fine dinings where i pay happily 25% tips. This place is cash only as well.......Terrible experience.

I would like to share my experience at the location. After reading very positive reviews I decided to bring my business to support this local restaurant during COIVD-19. Please note, the food was authentic and good quality. But my personal experience with the person who took my order was unpleasant. After driving to pick up the takeout order and arriving home, we discovered that the order was incorrect. I called back and spoke with Dinh who was the gentleman that took my order. There was a miscommunication (maybe it was language barrier) because he submitted to the kitchen an incorrect order. Now, working in retail/service industry, I can understand because miscommunication definitely can happen. However, it was his unwillingness to make up for the incorrect order. The only option he gave me was 1. put an order for the missing item on doordash (which I will be charged for the item and an additional delivery fee) or for me to drive back to the store for it. This location is a 15- 20 min drive one way for me depending on traffic so I said that's not something I am able to do today. I asked if I can have a credit, to use towards the next purchase (still willing to go back and support the business), but he said no, that is not possible. When I ask if I can speak with the manager/owner (Jason), he said he is not there, and he does not know when the manager will be in next. So if you are ordering take out, I would highly recommend to check the accuracy of your order prior to leaving the premise. Otherwise you will be both disappointed if there is an error with your order as well as frustrated when the staff does not seem very willing to rectify any order errors. Lastly, why would a restaurant ONLY take cash when that can easily transmit COVID-19 virus between staff and patrons?? Most restaurants and retailers are now promoting touchless...

First time coming here after reading all the great reviews.

It's not a big space but it does the job and it feels cozy.

We each ordered the Beef Pho Special (Regular) at $15 CDN and a fresh shrimp & pork rice roll to share $3.50 CDN.

The rice roll was in good size, freshly made, the dipping sauce was good.

The regular size was actually good enough for each of us unless you are a massive eater, then you will opt for the XL at $17 CDN a bowl. Otherwise, we think the regular size is perfect.

I was impressed with the broth, clean and flavourful, only thing I wish was a little bit more pipping hot broth as that's my preference. The noodles, I am not 100% sure if it's fresh noods but it feels and tasted like fresh noods vs some other restaurants that used dried noods and put water to make it soften.

I prefer fresh noods so this is a plus here at Pho Linh. Loads of white chopped onions which I like. And the meat was generous, good amount of tendon, raw beef and brisket (which is hard to find when other restaurants try to sneaky reduced meat due to inflation). Beef balls were good but I prefer my beef balls with some tendon and peppery like some other pho restos offer.

Otherwise, this is a great bowl of pho with good amount of meat and noodles for a reasonable and fair pricing. We will definitely be back and next time I want to try the crispy spring rolls and...
