This was once a favourite brunch spot of mine that I would rave about and recommend to others. However my last visit was very disappointing, and I went again today to give it another chance. Unfortunately it confirmed that a once excellent place is now a place I will not go back to. I wonder what accounts for such a stark change, whether there has been a change in ownership? The quality of the food was once exceptional, but these last two times the quality has decreased so much. I didn't even bother eating more that a few bites of my dish today as it was flavourless, and the bread was stale. The staff seemed disinterested and did not address this. Most concerning is that we saw one of the staff picking up glasses but putting her fingers inside - which is unhygienic and against basic standards of service and cleanliness. This same staff member was unkempt, which is a bit off-putting as service staff at a minimum should look clean. I think the above is reflected in the overall change in vibe in the place, as previously there was a very welcoming atmosphere by the staff and a feeling that they had pride in their establishment, whereas not there is a feeling that the staff are just going through the motions and don't really care. I do hope they reflect on this change and try to capture some of the original quality and feel of the place, because truly it was once great and it is a shame to see...
Read moreIf you are looking for a break from traditional breakfast, this is your place.
I like their decor and all the traditional art, but the seating is kinda cramped, if you are lukcy you may get to sit on the takht and have an even more traditional experience.
Now the food here is creative to say the least, some people might even find it weird. I love eggs and i love dates, so i had the eggs date breakfast, and I was left wondering why has nobody thought of this before? SOOO GOOOD! it goes perfectly together, and there some cheese on the side to balance the overpowering sweetness of dates (I drool as i write).
My friend got a dizi, there is a certain way to eat it and the server walks you through it. It is interesting to it, tasty, but extremely heavy!! The guy beside our table warned us that this is sleep inducing, and he wasn't wrong, ran for a coffee right after that.
Don't miss out on the tea they serve, very flavourful and authentic persian tea, could use some of that to get the food settled down.
Service: our server was nice, but there is only two of them and the place is very busy on weekends, need more servers.
Have a good...
Read moreWe were there last weekend with our friends and unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. If I want to mention an important case that annoyed all of us, it was their inattentiveness. It was the weekend and all tables had been reserved beforehand, then they knew that how crowded their restaurant will be. Despite estimated customers, they didn't have any sense of time. They kept us waiting for around 15 mins until they took our orders and then 20 mins to serve our food.
Regarding dishes, I couldn't find them as authentic Iranian breakfast dishes. Since they say Sar-Shir Asal, they must have served kaymak (sort of clotted cream) which is so slightly sweet and mostly creamy, but they serve sort of heavy or whipped cream (Khame). Good to know that the extremely lovely part of Sar-Shir is its creamy texture. Khorak-e zaban was well-cooked but it was so oily. Its portion was small and had more mushrooms than...
