WOW! What a hidden gem! You would think, “Jane Finch Area, small mall, looks nothing special”. And boi you would be wrong.
Arveen’s is a 6 star place. We bough matcha, blueberry croissant, carrot cake, and a pink salt chokochip cookie. EVERYTHING was delicios!
Mateo (👨🏽🍳the owner, Arveen is his little son) cooks everything by hand, fresh every day. Old family recipes. Mateo is just an amazing human being, he truly cares, puts his heart and soul in his business, and a very entertaining story teller.
He is an ex-Chef and you can feel it in his work - what’s cooked and presented is a result of a years on the path of mastery. He is a true craftsman who takes pride in the way he approaches his cooking and every customer experience.
Screw Starbucks, Aroma, and Second cup. If you live in the neighbourhood come and support Mateo, and experience first-hand his one-of-a-kind hospitality and heavenly bakery.
I am going there now. What are you waiting for? :) It’s tea time! ☕️🍵🍪🍰

Read moreMatteo is a very friendly guy who makes a mean cup of coffee. You can tell how much time and effort he puts into everything he does in his kitchen. His ingredients are top notch and he will love to tell you about them if you ask. The food preparation here is very transparent. He deeply cares about delivery quality; I've seen him turn uber eats drivers away for not bringing the thermal bag. He doesn't want a single bad order to go to his customers. He also has vegan options for people who care about that. The icing on the cake? His prices are lower than other premium coffee chains that you're probably familiar with.
Arveen's Express Cafe is definitely a more humanizing approach than other options in the area for coffee and confectionary. If you want a well made drink or homemade baked goods, I'd highly recommend...
Read moreChef Matteo brings healthy and affordable food to this university friendly community. We got the “Smoked Lox” Wafflewich Sando which had a good portion of smoked salmon and the works (cream cheese, fresh dill, capers and red onion) between toasty waffle slices 🧇. So delicious! The “BAC Western Benedict” Wafflewich Sando had bacon, egg with onion, peppers, cheese and Hollandaise sauce. The wrap with avocado, spinach, onion, mozzarella and pesto aioli was also good and perfect for a lighter option. The Funky Monkey smoothie was no overly sweet at all and banana, espresso, chocolate and almond milk. You can also get good quality coffee here that Chef roasts himself!
Chef also has freshly homemade sweets and can make any drink, vegan 🌱 friendly! His café is located near York University inside...
