This is such a serious health matter to me
I ordered food from this restaurant before and today I decided to try it again hoping everything will turn out to be good
On my note “on Uber food delivery” I have mentioned to the restaurant that I am allergic to seafood and it’s serious to my health ! I have asked them to excluded seafood out from my orders ( attached pictures ) they removed squid but not shrimps ! The funny part is that these steamed rice - rolls description never have shrimps but I don’t know why they mixed them in my food despite my health concern !
When I called the restaurant and wanted to speak to the owner with my feedback ! The receptionist guy lied to me saying that no owners nor supervisor in the restaurant and I was like “ who runs business like this ? With no owner and supervisor “
After a long conversation - the receptionist guy agreed for me to bring back for a exchange with no seafood ! I live pretty far away from the restaurant and super hungry ! By the time I got there ! Omg ! No hand sanitizer at front entrance ! Too many staff working in a small sqft area ! No social distancing among staff !
The owners came out from the restaurant simply refused to make new steamed rice rolls ! They asked me to pay extra !
They said to me that they cannot even sell what I have brought back and I then questioning them if they are trying to sell old food ! ?? They were hesitating to answer my questions !
My simple ask for the restaurant is to make the new one without seafood as I have paid everything including service fee ! Uber tips and etc and my time traveling !
Problems with this restaurant !
Friends ! I don’t want you guys to experience what I have experienced with this restaurant ! Please avoid this place at all cost !
I have learned my lesson and I will NEVER support this small local business “BANH CUON HUONG QUE”
By the way ! If anyone of you guys experienced the same thing ! You should contact Health...

I visited Banh Cuon Huong Que with my parents, hoping to enjoy a nice meal together, but unfortunately, our experience was far from what we had anticipated. We decided to try the pho, a dish that typically embodies the comforting flavours of Vietnamese cuisine. However, upon tasting it, we were immediately struck by how salty it was. It was evident that the broth had been loaded with MSG, which completely overpowered the natural flavours. Instead of the light, aromatic broth we expected, we were met with a dish that felt artificially seasoned and far too intense. This made the meal quite unpleasant, as the pho lacked the delicate balance that usually defines this beloved dish.
The disappointing food was further compounded by the service we received. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that the staff's attentiveness was lacking. We had to wait an unusually long time to place our order, and throughout the meal, it felt like we were an afterthought. While I understand that restaurants can be busy, there was no effort made to acknowledge the delay or check in on us during our meal. This lack of attention really detracted from the dining experience, as we were hoping for a welcoming atmosphere where we could enjoy our time together as a family.
Given these issues, it's difficult to find any positives to highlight about our visit. On top of this we sat near the window and the seating was very uncomfortable and awkward. The combination of underwhelming food and poor service left us thoroughly disappointed. Dining out is often about more than just the food; it's also about the experience, and unfortunately, Banh Cuon Huong Que failed to deliver on both fronts. We had hoped for a warm, enjoyable meal, but instead, we left feeling dissatisfied and unlikely to return.
While I believe in giving places a fair chance, the significant flaws in both the food and service make it hard to justify a second visit. We won’t be coming back to Banh Cuon Huong Que, as our experience was simply not up to par. For those considering a visit, I would recommend tempering your expectations, especially if you are particular about the quality of pho or attentive service. There are many other spots that offer a more balanced and satisfying dining experience, and I would suggest exploring those options...
Read moreAs the name would suggest, go here for the banh cuon. Some of the other dishes look like they might be ok, but I've only ever had the banh cuon. Like many "specialty" places in Vietnam, the same goes for this store - come for what they make, cause that's really the foundation they're built on. The banh cuon is done well - good texture, decent filling (pork, nam meo, onions), and comes with a good variety of meats (if you order the special / "dac biet") - cha lua, cha muc, cha que. The way they make their banh cuon, it seems like a smaller wrap, as opposed to the more "traditional" sized ones that are more like what you might see from a Chinese dim sum place and their rice rolls (w/ shrimp, beef, etc.). The fish sauce is good, and the meats are pretty good - I like their cinnamon one (cha que) best, but their squid (fresh made(?) cha muc) is pretty good too. I wish they also served it with banh cong (like a deep fried muffin). Price is decent, on par with most others. There used to be some pretty good places on St Clair, but those are gone now. I think this one might be the best in the city if you're looking for quality banh cuon. Service is decent, cash only, and parking lot is a little small, free, but never too busy that you won't get a spot. There might be a bit more parking around back, but I've never needed to. I'd definitely recommend this place, and if I'm craving banh cuon, this is now my...
