First experience & last experience. I downloaded the app too thinking I would be a regular until this experience we received. The service that we were presented with is terrible. Customer service non existent. No smile or any warm greeting. We went here for their Monday promotion & there was a woman and a guy working at the serving station that owns the business. It's a family owned company because I saw the ribbon cutting picture. Anyways, The woman told us that we can't get their promotional price unless we order separately, we said that's fine. She asked us white or whole wheat tortilla, my boyfriend said whole wheat & I said white. She put rice on both of our orders and then she asked if we want beans. I said yes, brown beans & my boyfriend said no to beans. The woman then put my order of brown beans on my boyfriends whole wheat tortilla & put none on my white tortilla. We just let it go, we didn't complain & just decided to switch with each other later because it wasn't that big of a deal anyways. She made our orders and proceeded to check us out. I went first to pay. I was excited to use my new barburrito app & excited to try my food for the first time, I just tapped my phone to pay & when my boyfriend realized she overcharged me he asked for a refund because the woman was already told that we would pay separately to get the promotional price in the beginning & she still charged me for both causing us to be charged more. She then started blaming us for the issue and didnt want to provide any refund due to "the place being a franchise and that they would have to pay some fee or something". So I asked her to just provide the difference & she refused because she kept saying "we already paid there's nothing she can do about it" & my boyfriend told her regardless of the franchise fee, that they have to pay. She was told in the start that we will be paying separately, yet she still charged for both. My boyfriend advise for a refund & to charge us separately for the order to get the promotional price. The woman then called her son (I believe) and she was arguing with him acting like a big baby because she didn't want to give us the refunded difference & complained to him about the tax & how I got my points & how they have to pay the franchise fee & she kept pulling the ipad away from him. (Franchise fee should have NOTHING to do with the customers). Long story short he decided to just refund us the difference but when he provided us with the change, he shoved it to my boyfriends hand like air dropping it from above his hands as if he wanted to throw it at him, with an attitude on his face. It's funny how they were the ones upset and treated us like we're in the wrong. She was wrong from the beginning!! Just ridiculous. Even as we left she was still making a scene complaining & arguing to her son while other customers were still in the store. Terrible first experience. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE! Read moreI'm Brazilian, and I've been in Toronto on vacation for 30 days, and today I had the bad experience of going to Bar Burrito. The service was terrible, the only bad service I've had all my time here. My English is not good, so I started by saying that I don't speak English, and even so the attendant speaks quickly, not showing any empathy or interest in helping. I couldn't understand my order, and made comments in another language with the other attendant (the comments seemed to be about us), that was terrible, I was extremely embarrassed. I asked the attendant to speak slowly, and she pretended not to hear, but I insisted and she was unwilling. after paying for the order, the 2 attendants made comments again in another language, but I kept looking at what they look like, as this is a tremendous lack of respect. I hope this is not the standard practice at BAR BURRITO, because if it is, I advise all people who do not speak English well, not to go to the restaurant, as they will certainly be mistreated. The service took place today, April 28, 2023, at approximately 9 pm. The attendant who provided a terrible service was responsible for putting together the orders.
