Dan House: A Must-Try Fusion Spot on Danforth

I recently discovered Dan House, a small and cozy new restaurant on Danforth, and it’s absolutely worth a visit! This hidden gem serves a unique fusion menu featuring Tamil food, pastas, burgers, biryani, and kothu roti.

I tried their kothu roti, and it was incredible—definitely one of the best I’ve had. It had that authentic, homestyle flavor that really sets it apart from other places, even those that are more well-known. The food was fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection.

The interior is modern and inviting, and the space is super clean, which is always a plus. To top it all off, the owner is such a friendly and laid-back guy, which made the whole experience even better.

I visited Blue Elephant Cuisine expecting something decent based on the glowing reviews — only to find out those reviews are actually for Dan House, the old restaurant they bought out. Total bait-and-switch.

The new restaurant is incredibly basic, poorly managed, and doesn’t even have half the items you'd expect on the menu. Customer service is a joke — the staff were indifferent and the owner was straight-up rude when I asked a simple question about the order delay.

Food was bland and forgettable. Portion sizes were small and didn’t feel fresh at all. Definitely not worth the money or the frustration.
