Many food places close early on campus in the summer so I went to Break Cafe. They didn’t have any of the daily specials anymore (it was around 5 PM by then) so I tried to get a pasta salad from the fridge. I only had $10 on me and was missing 15 cents after tax and the girl wouldn’t let me off so I left hungry.
I came back another day to try the pasta salad again and it was so dry and disappointing. It tasted like boiled pasta, probably leftovers. There were too many olives and barely any onions, tomatoes, feta cheese, oil or any other ingredients. I regret it so much. I couldn’t even finish it.
Other than that, I have tried all the daily specials (except for Wednesday) and they were decent for the price. Sometimes, it is flavourful and sometimes not. I guess it depends who caters that day.

The food doesn’t taste too bad, it’s made ahead of time and warmed on hot plates which may effect the food quality at times (ex. garlic bread for Monday’s weekly meal was a bit hard cause it cooled). It’s cheap so I’m not expecting a mind blowing meal, just something to fill me up, and it does the job. Service has been quick and efficient whenever I grab lunch here, even when there’s a lunch rush.
