Chungchun Rice Dog — Restaurant in Toronto

To anyone reading this review don’t wait for the old man to take your order, you will hate and regret going there.

This review is for the Asian old man that was standing at the cashier. He was very very rude and disrespectful. He literally took more than 10 minutes with the customer that was standing in front of me and as soon as I started ordering he started telling me to “hurry up because there’s a line behind you”. I didn’t even take 1 minute ordering my food and he started rushing me. I told him it’s my first time in the store and I don’t know everything about the menu and I asked him a couple questions about the difference between the sweet potato and the normal one, but unfortunately his attitude was super rude and disrespectful to the point where he made me order a different order that I wanted to.

After I ordered my food within less than 1 minute and being unhappy with his aggressive customer service, I figured out that he told me the wrong potato because I wanted the normal potato one. I went back to tell him I want the normal potato but he told me that I ordered the sweet potato since I didn’t even want that one. He told me that they are not going to make the normal potato since they already started making the sweet potato. I said alright then I don’t want my food and I want my money back or you make me the normal potato. After I appeared that I was mad and upset he agreed to make the order that I wanted but he started and kept telling his customers that I’m being mean to him while he was rude to me from the beginning and telling me to rush since I didn’t even take 1 minute. The people that were behind me got their order already done and he left me waiting.

The lady that gave me the food was very nice and she was always smiling and respectful to me. While he wasn’t even trying for a chance to serve me the food as he was doing it for others. He was super rude and disrespectful not even just to me but to others as well, his attitude was very unprofessional and unacceptable. I’m not coming back to this...

This place is not halal. My friend comes here often and recommended it. The employee who served my friend said the chicken was, so she ordered one (she's eaten here many times before with the same response). When we watched her make them, we noticed the same batter was used to dip the hot dogs into, and they were all deep-fried together. We told her that made it not halal as they served pork as well, and it's all prepared together. She didn't understand, but we asked for a refund for my friends order, and the lady seemed angry and threw hers out. We don't eat halal, so we had ours no problem. They're very good, but obviously, none of us will be returning. The employees should answer that no, the food is not halal, and if they don't know what halal means, they should ask. We also asked if everything was pre-made before ordering, but she didn't know what we meant. This is definitely a communication and education issue with the employees, but because it's multiple employees who have given this answer, it's not their fault, and they should be trained to...

I got the double cheese rice dog and I loved it! Cashier took my order with no problems but he could've been friendlier which is why I only gave the service 4/5 stars. Food took about 5 mins to make. They have a lot of selection. The price was fine (in my opinion). There's also app you can download to get points and rewards. The cashier didn't tell me about it, I just saw it on the screen when I was about to pay so I downloaded the app first before paying. You can get only minimum 3 sauces and 1 seasoning. I didn't like how they limit you like that. The guy didn't put a lot of seasoning when I told him what seasoning I wanted. The food was good, I just noticed that when I was more than halfway done the rice covering part was starting to slip off, making it a bit hard to eat. I think they need to make the rice dog covering fit better with the sausage. I also remember the rice dogs being a bit longer in size when I went to other locations. There is a washroom too if...
