Sushi Q at YorkU is my go-to place for lunch when I’m on campus! If you’re looking for some good Korean food and Japanese food / (lots of sushi) or want to warm up with a bowl of ramen, I’d recommend coming here! I’ve only ordered the ramen dishes and bibimap at this place, but they’re pretty good and priced decently :) Their bibimap is tasty, although, the fried egg is a bit cold, so ask them to make it hot! They only have 3 different ramen dishes: miso, tonkotsu, and shoyu. To be honest, all 3 of them are very similar to each, except the miso ramen broth seems to be more salty and more flavourful while the meat is more fatty. For the shoyu ramen, the broth seems to be more refined and the meat has less fat, as well and similar to Chinese barbecued pork. For the tonkotsu, I couldn’t really find differences, in comparison to the other two, so I’d say just to pick whichever one you want, honestly. They offer either medium ($14 including tax) or large ($15 including tax) size for their ramens, but I’d say to choose size large, instead it’s only a dollar more and you’ll get 3 pieces of meat instead of 2 and a bit more noodles, but again, there is not much difference in terms of the sizing between the medium and large. The service is decent; there’s only 2 employees as far as I know: one Korean woman who I believe is the main chef and then the cashier who will occasionally clean and prepare the order. The wait time would be at most 15-20 minutes if they’re busy, and usually, most people do take-out here rather than dine-in. There is not much seating in the restaurant and it is a bit tight, though, but it’s alright, considering that the store isn’t that big. There is one washroom available for customers though, but I suggest you use the washroom at one of the school buildings before heading into the store. Overall, the staff are pretty friendly and it is relatively good East-Asian food on campus, compared to other locations at YorkU Keele :) In my opinion, it’s way better than Basil Box at the Quad, Thai Express in York Lanes, and the Asian Pop-Up shops within DB & CS!

I asked them if they had a vegetarian Ramen because it wasn’t listed in the menu and they told me they could make a vegetarian ramen for me and she told me that she was gonna charge me as a normal not vegetarian ramen and I said ok that’s fine. They bring me the ramen and as I’m finishing it and I get to the bottom I see like pieces of meat which I’m assuming it would be pork. NEVER coming to this place again. If you can’t make vegetarian ramen just tell me and that’s fine. They definitely just gave me their pork ramen because they brought it to me in about 5 minutes.

The food is pretty good there and service is reasonably good as well (waiting time is 7-15 minutes)! The cooked foods are the ones that take a bit of waiting time but the food comes out fresh, hot, and delicious. My go to has been the regular tteokboki! As some people say, it is asian spicy, not white spicy 😂. It would be a better atmosphere if music was played in the background. Probably k-pop or pop, Korean songs for the sake of the foods culturally made in Korea.

The environment was very clean and tidy. The service was quick (5 minutes for tonkatsu ramen) and friendly. They provide complimentary wifi, since yorku wifi doesn't reach there, unless you have access to the quad's wifi.

The ramen served wasn't very hot, so I was able to eat it without blowing on it (took less time to eat because of this). The ramen itself wasn't outstanding, but it was good. The noodles do contain egg, so if you're allergic to that, ask them if they have an eggless option, although I don't know if they do or not. Also, if you can't have pork for specific reasons, I believe that they do have ramen options that don't contain pork in their broth, but you'll have to find out yourself to be certain, for I haven't asked them about it.

Overall, a nice place with service and a meal that left me satisfied. I do recommend you give it a visit, if you wish to have...

Had 3 meals: overpriced, tasteless, undercooked, overcooked. How is this place operating? Does not mean its a fast food, that quality should also be below par. Wondering if all locations are like this

Ramen, had eggshells, broth tasted like water, tasted like an actual grocery bought ramen

Chicken was overcooked and its hard to pull apart.

Tempura all breading except sweet potato YET Is it undercooked.maybe cut it thinner or cook it longer?

To the manager of this location, kindly look at what your franchise is serving. Yes, most of the customers are students however it does not mean the food...
