Cafe Pho Nho — Restaurant in Toronto

Food was actually fantastic and spot on, I won’t lie. The customer service on the other hand was absolutely disgusting. I had been to this restaurant about a year earlier and liked the fact that their kitchen is open late and had good food. However, when I came back here in August of 2023 with a friend for dinner, I was shocked. We ordered our food and it came promptly and actually tasted very good, we were sitting by the patio door and they had it all the way open, there were no people on the patio and the restaurant was not that busy, while we were eating two mice scurried I under our table and were hovering arum nearby on the dining room floor, when we informed our server she said she would call the manager for us, when the manager came and we told her what happened, she told us “it’s summer the patio door is open this happens all the time” . So when I politely asked her to close the patio door she became very aggressive and asked me why I was making such a big deal about it……….. well idk about you but I would rather not have rodents running around the floor below my table as I’m trying to eat. I just rolled my eyes and she walked away, the door was still open and a few minutes later we witnessed more mice run in from outside along the dining room floor. We asked to speak with the manager again and she stormed out and continually asked us why we were “making such a big deal out of this” . Again………. I personally do not like rodents running around my dining room floor but hey……teach their own I guess? We had asked again if they could just shut the patio garage door and she kept refusing and saying “it’s summer, this will happen” . At this point we asked for the bill. After we paid, the manager demanded why we had not tipped her. I responded by saying “well why would I tip you, when you weren’t even the one serving me to begin with, and the fact that you did nothing to correct this situation, I wouldn’t eve leave you a penny if they were still in circulation. I will give credit to the kitchen staff as food was still very tasty. But this place definitely needs to get a new manager or get their current manager up to date on customer...

I have gone to eat here a handful of times.The service has never been good, but because the food is inexpensive I have returned far many more times than I normally would a disappointing restaurant. Suffice to say, it is unlikely I will eat here again. While the food is average, as it should given the cost, you really do have to inure the slow waitresses and a certain hierarchy in service. Should you visit while some of their regular patrons are in, you can expect to order first and be served last. Excluding one visit, this has happened to me each and every time. Once I waited close to 45 mins for my dish, pork chop and broken rice with steamed eggs. But here is the kicker, it isn't just the food that takes time to get to you, the bill does to! To make matters worse, the place accepts cash only, and if you need change you will be made to wait again!

Delicious authentic Vietnamese cuisine with large portions, equipped with a bar and draft beer, freshly made fruit drinks such as smoothies and cocktails, friendly staff, great atmosphere and music. I’ve been coming here since Cafe Pho Nho opened from day 1 and quality has never declined. I stopped by recently and am very impressed with their adherence to COVID-19 rules, they also upgraded to digital QR coded menus. Cafe Pho Nho also has a very well designed and heated tent outside in the patio area with wall to wall heating, it was 4 degrees out that night and it was still very warm and toasty - I did not need my jacket.
