We got married earlier this month, and I'd like to start off by saying we had an amazing night. You could put our families on a desert island and we would still have fun. The venue was beautiful but the staff was not. I won't mention everything, as to not sound petty, but here are some things I would've liked to know before booking.
Rosa (the owner) was lovely while planning the wedding, however, a few days before the wedding it suddenly changed. She was extremely rude and lashed out at my husband when dropping off supplies, saying that they don't have space, even though there were various emails confirming these plans. She let us keep some things but had to take some back. You will have to drop everything off the day of your wedding.
-we asked if we could hire a wedding planner but they insist on doing it themselves. Which sounds great. But we would have done it now looking back. We worked really hard on planning this wedding and attention to detail is not their strongest point. Just to give you an idea, my husband had to ask them to take down the welcome sign because they spelt BOTH of our names wrong, but all the guests had arrived already and was too late.
-it's hard booking appointments with her as she is very often on vacation or forgets about your appointment.
-after the wedding, while talking to family and friends, we were informed that the staff was really nasty to them. I won't speak for all the staff, as there's many of them, but two In Particular that people kept mentioning. I was so offended and embarrassed to find this out.
-drinks were being picked up off the table 1/2-3/4 full, which in turn adds to your bar tab. My sister In law had to stop one of them, telling him that her husband was not done with his drink and was just in the bathroom.
-There is a lot of miscommunication between Rosa, her assistant, and her staff. There a lot of things that she will promise you but does not deliver, or just simply forgets about it.
-they will tell you that you can sit 10 per table, 7 tables indoors and the rest outdoors. Seating 10 people per table is VERY tight. Some of our guests were sitting halfway in the aisle because space was limited. Tables are suitable for 8 guests. Also, 7 tables inside is too tight, 6 would probably be more comfortable.
-if you order the porchetta for late night, bring extra buns because they ran out, with lots of meat leftover. My uncle almost had to run to the store to get more, but they pulled some out from the back after much trouble.
-the only lovely staff member that we had the privilege of working with was Antoinette, which is Rosa's assistant. We didn't know her for long, because rosa went through 2-3 assistants throughout the year, but she was very understanding of all this. We went back after the wedding to address our concerns but rosa was off on vacation.
Again, it was a lovely evening, but not a great way to end our lovely year of hard work and planning. It was all very...
Read moreWORST DINING EXPERIENCE I HAVE HAD IN TORONTO, TERRIBLE RUDE and STUCK UP SERVERS, and FOOD POISONING (group of 8 and one child) ... Firstly. Let me say, I have never written a review of any kind about a restaurant, good or bad, but after our experience with this place... I had to warn others. After our first drinks and main courses were delivered we were Basically forgotten. I had to wave him down to get another beer, when I did get his attention. I got this attitude that he couldn't believe he was being asked to get me another beer. He proceeded to take an empty beer from a fellow diner and didn't even take 2 seconds to ask if he wanted another beer (which he did). Everyone was satisfied with their food. Until the end with the bills. We asked the waiter for the BILLS, and he proceeded to bring out one bill. At this point there might have been 4 other people left in the restaurant and still the 4 waiters working. We politely asked if he would be able to split the bill into three parties. He left with the bill, without saying anything and returned with a younger different waiter who proceeded to tell us he would not split the bill. When I asked why not, we were told in the most rude stuck up way possible, it was because we had a group he wouldn't split it ( as he holds the paper copy of everything that was ordered... One drink, One entree, one appetizer per person... nothing to complicated). I stated that when we booked our reservation or when we ordered out drinks and food, we were never told the bill would all be combined and if he could show some compassion and split it this once it would be greatly appreciated. He stuck to his extremely rude and stuck up answer that they refused to split the bill. I stated that I had never had this issue previously in a restaurant and that I didn't understand was so complicated about splitting the bill. He basically laughed at the group and again stated they wouldn't split the bill. I couldn't believe the lazy, incompetent, dis-service we were given by the staff. It would have taken maybe 2 minutes of effort to split this bill and make all of us extremely happy customers.... On a side not my spouse spent the entire rest of the night throwing up her seafood pasta dish that gave her food poisoning, so I would definitely stay away from any seafood at this place. WORST DINING...
Read moreGot my Jacket STOLEN here!
Want to share my experience with Caffino. Went there for my friend's birthday dinner, food was okay but someone STOLE my jacket. It has been 3 weeks and I've tried contacting the restaurant multiple times, they keep telling me that the manager will get back to me and that they will call the parties with reservation that night to see if someone took it by mistake. But unfortunately manager hasn't reached out to me yet. VERY disappointed with the experience. I would advice to keep your belongings to yourself if you decide to dine in

Wow, talk about an overreaction. Just to set the record straight: I never accused your staff of stealing my jacket. In fact, the only thing I liked about your place was how supportive your staff was, assuring me that the manager (that's you) would give me a call back.
All I asked was for you to review the footage and contact the people who made reservations during that two-hour window, as someone might have taken my jacket by mistake. There was one jacket left on the coat rack at the end of the night, after all.
I challenge you to meet in person and review the evidence together. If you are confident in your claims, this should not be an issue. My jacket remains missing, and your refusal to cooperate speaks volumes about your management and customer service. Also, what do you mean by "One of you own"? I hope thats not a racist remark because you'd be jeopardizing not only your business but the livelihood of everyone employed there in this economy.
Your response not only shows a complete lack of professionalism but also highlights just how poor your customer service is. It’s even worse than your food, if that's possible. So, how about we skip the drama and you show some proof if you have any? Otherwise, maybe focus on improving your management skills.
For anyone thinking of dining here, be aware: the customer service is as bad as the...
