Liberty Eats — Restaurant in Toronto

The menu items & pricing listed on the internet are not consistent with the signboard in the store. Red flag. When I ordered at the counter my order was yet higher than the signboard behind the till. Another red flag. The fries are frozen with that weird batter on them, not particularly good. The chicken sandwich had an odd flavour in it that I cannot put my finger on. The sandwich was supposed to be on a brioche bun but it was a poor mass produced imitation. The food was edible and I did eat it because I was very hungry .The service was odd. The two chaps working there seemed like they were flying by the seat of their pants. They seemed to question what they were doing or what it was I was ordering from the menu. Yet another red flag.

This place is one of those hit and miss set ups. I did not get a miss or a hit. I received food that is the equivalent to ordering at Harvey's, Burger King or Wendy's. In the end, I can see the menu has too broad of a range to focus on creating dynamic fresh dishes. The owner needs to pair it down and focus on fresh food made with love. There is no point in eating food from this establishment. Sorry.

I usually like the food from this restaurant, but my last experience was concerning and disappointing.

I ordered a cheesecake from here and when I received it I realize it had black mould growing on it. I immediately called the restaurant to let them know their cheesecake was growing mould and it would be a good idea to check to make sure they don't send anymore out, lest someone get sick.

The manager who answered the phone gave a myriad of excuses as to how that could've happened including, "well we're very busy at the moment" and "we don't actually make the cheesecake here". But they do package it and if no one is checking the quality and food safety of the items being sent out, they're going to make someone sick. Not impressed with the way they handled this and their establishment should be audited to ensure that they meet...

I loved this place, great food and timely delivery. Unfortunately, as time has gone by the quality has gone down. Each time we order its gotten worse. We used to get generous amounts of chicken tossed in sauces but last 3 times the sizes have become noticeable smaller. This last time the chicken was wet, soggy, and diced scraps. The “sauce” was a wet mix of mostly condensation, which is not unexpected but paired with a too little sauces just makes for a flavorless damp wrap. Super disappoint as Ive made it a point to try and reorder multiple times with hope that they were just having an off night. Has the potential to be a great local spot but its sad that the same item is somehow prepared differently...
