We stumbled upon this restaurant on a whim and our group of 4 left happy, full and comforted knowing that we found a new restaurant to share our time with friends and family in the future. The service during their lunch period was prompt and attentive. Our server (who I believe to be the owner) was honest and supportive with his menu recommendations. As noted in the photos (if uploaded correctly), we started with the Mix Appetizer Plate consisting of Hummus, Russian Salad, Acili Ezme (mashed tomatoes and pepper with onions & herbs), and Eggplant purée. For our shared entrée, we had the Mix Kebab (adana/ spiced beef skewer, Beef kebab and chicken kebab, served with 2 types of rice and lavash bread). For our "dessert" we shared the spinach with feta pide which was topped with spinach, feta and parsley. All of the dishes were spectacular, but particularly the mix appetizer and the mix kebab. The meats were cooked perfectly accompanied by complimentary spices and flavours of the toppings and variety of the rices. Ultimately, it was the lavash bread that captured the adoration of our appetite. It was as smooth as silk and delicate like a cloud. We may be biased, since it was my first time trying this type of bread (sometimes the first time is the best) but it certainly entices me to explore and try this cuisine even more - which is what all good restaurants should do, right? Ultimately, the pide was not as enjoyable as the rest of the meal, but it was still executed very well. I appreciated the subtle egg-wash or dressing on the pide. I believe I will try the mixed or sausage with mozza pide, the next time I return. If you dine here, please be excited to try as many different items, for your own benefit and enjoyment. Dining here (should) help you feel warm and welcomed.

If you're looking for a delicious and authentic Turkish dining experience in Toronto, look no further than this gem of a restaurant! From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy, inviting atmosphere that sets the tone for a memorable meal. The menu is bursting with flavorful and well-crafted dishes that are sure to tantalize your taste buds. Whether you're in the mood for hearty and savory meat dishes like lamb kebabs or juicy chicken shish, or lighter options like grilled vegetables and hummus, this restaurant has something for everyone. What sets this place apart from other Turkish restaurants in the city is the attention to detail and the quality of the ingredients. Each dish is beautifully presented and bursting with fresh, bold flavors that transport you to the heart of Turkey. And let's not forget about the desserts! The kunefe and other traditional sweets are absolutely divine, and are the perfect end to a perfect meal. The service is top-notch and attentive, and the prices are very reasonable given the quality of the food and the experience. Overall, I highly recommend this Turkish restaurant to anyone who appreciates authentic, delicious cuisine and a welcoming atmosphere. Whether you're a seasoned fan of Turkish food or a newcomer to this rich and flavorful cuisine, you're sure to leave this restaurant with a smile on your face and a full and satisfied stomach!

Nestled right on the bustling Danforth strip, Chef Mustafa brings the heart of Turkey to downtown Toronto — halal, hearty, and full of flavour. The space is cozy, the staff kind and attentive, and the atmosphere warm enough to make you feel like you’ve been invited to dinner at someone’s home. We dropped by for their tasting event and were treated to some stellar new menu items. The Mix Appetizer Plate kicked things off — from the tang of the cacik to the heat of the ezme, each spread had its own charm, all scooped up with soft flatbread that brought it together beautifully. The Fried Kibbeh was a standout. Thin, crispy bulgur shells gave way to perfectly spiced minced meat — crunchy, savoury bites of comfort that disappeared too quickly. We tried both the Beef and Chicken Sauté, served straight from a sizzling “sac” pan. The meats were juicy and full of rich, homestyle spices, paired with fluffy rice and warm flatbread for that wholesome, satisfying feel. Dessert didn’t miss. The Baklava had that perfect flakey crunch with a sweet, nutty finish. And the Chocolate Soufflé? Oozy, gooey goodness with a pistachio twist that made it feel just a little extra. We decided to come to eat at Chef Mustafa through word of mouth, (Dec 30th 6pm) we were told the food and service was amazing. Unfortunately this wasn’t the case. I don’t know if it’s because we came with children or maybe the waiter was having a bad day. But our waiter (dark brown hair and short slight beard) was very negligent, my aunt, who was paying the bill, asked for hot sauce twice initially and was ignored and the second time, she mentioned can we get hot sauce and maybe some tzatziki or something as none of the meals came with any garlic sauce or labneh (we ordered three entrees and 1 doner meal to go). The second time she asked, he slightly flared up at her and said “my friend is coming, okay!?” As in, the other waiter is coming with the sauce. I was so surprised he spoke that way to her and also we would have paid for the labneh or tzatziki or whatever sauces they serve if it didn’t come with the meals, but he didn’t even offer it as an option, he also didn’t even bring the hot sauce, or if they didn’t have any available, didn’t say we don’t serve that. Very disappointing, was uncomfortable through that meal for sure. Chef Mustafa, your values might not align with your staff member’s behaviour, but your waiters and waitresses are your first point of contact for us customers. Will not be coming back or recommending this restaurant to others. I have been eating at restaurants on the Danforth for years, this is one of my worst...
