The store enforced a mandatory tip, and I couldn't choose the tip percentage. When I requested to select my own tip amount, the staff said they wouldn't provide a receipt because the system couldn't be changed. This is simply ridiculous.
Mandatory tipping is illegal. They claimed there was a notice at the entrance about mandatory tips, but I specifically checked, and there was none.
I am extremely dissatisfied with their coercive behavior towards customers. I refused to pay the tip, which led to an argument, and the staff even insulted customers.
This issue arises because customers have been too accommodating. Such bad practices should not be tolerated!
We had already argued, but I still paid the full meal cost and HST. In the video, you can see the money in her hand, along with some other coins on the table.
In this situation, she refused to provide a receipt for the $202 I paid. She explicitly said that without a tip, a receipt wouldn't be issued.
This is absolutely outrageous. In Canada, any card machine can be set to issue a receipt for the correct amount. Additionally, mandatory tipping is not allowed; neither the law nor social customs permit it. Customers always have the right to choose the tip percentage.
Since I paid, I must have a receipt, so I took the previous receipt, which included the mandatory tip. However, my taking the receipt caused her to shout to those present that I hadn't paid enough, misleading the facts.
I asked for the correct receipt, but she refused. Moreover, she insulted me, even mentioning the child who was with me. This led to the argument between my family and her, as shown in the video.
Additionally, I must point out that the kind of cash receipt they issue is essentially a bill, not a receipt, and it is likely not suitable for...

Read moreI came to this restaurant after reading reviews and was convinced that this is one of those TRULY Halal where i could eat with peaceful mind. When i first got in i was amazed by the pictures that had Islamic sayings and Ayat Al kursi hanging on the walls, I ordered couple dishes, was so excited to have halal chinese food, until i noticed the soy sauce bottle that had a sticker on it, (as shown in picture) the sticker covered the ingredients, that seemed odd, i looked around to notice that all bottles had the same stickers covering the ingeridients, when i googled the soy sauce brand to my surprised it had Alcohol in it. I asked a waitress why do they have soy sauce with alcohol when the restraunt is allegedly "Halal" she said she doesnt know she'll go ask, then I asked if they have an alternative, a soy sauce without alcohol, she went to ask and came with the answered that "no we don't have any other brand" (the waitress was so sweet btw) i went to ask a men at the cashier stand he said "don't worry we refill using our own soy sauce everything is halal don't worry" ", which to be honest did not make any sense to me, especially when i looked around me and saw bottles that looked brand new not used more than once. I looked behind him at the counter there was no legit halal certificate, I ended up not eating my food (chicken dumplings) because I had doubts, and only had the shrimp rice (which was good to be fair). To be honest I was so dissapointed, I wouldn't come here again. And won't recommend it to my...
