Unfortunately I have a bad review. My wife has shopped there almost every day for years and never had an issue. We always thought they had great produce and also great service. But today while shopping there she had very low sugar level as she is a diabetic and needed sugar quickly before she passed out or potentially had a seizure. The quickest way for a diabetic to get sugar into their system is to drink juice. Thankfully she was able to recognize what was happening to her so before her sugars got too low, she grabbed a juice from the shelf and opened it. A lady who works there saw her opening the juice and accused her of stealing. My wife has never done anything of the sort in her life and tried to explain her diabetic situation but the lady refused to believe her. The lady went on to embarrass my wife in front of many of the people she frequently sees in the store, she would not let her drink the juice to level out her sugars or wouldn't even let her buy any of the groceries she had in her cart! She left Galati crying, without groceries, on the verge of passing out and drove her Ebike home while not thinking straight. She could have been seriously hurt or even hurt someone else. Needless to say, she will never go back there because of the embarrassing scene the lady put her through. I would suggest that management educate their staff on diabetics and the importance of their access to sugar as soon as they need it. It's actually a very common thing. Just a...
Read moreI have been a loyal customer at your establishment since 2013, as its location just a traffic light away from my home makes it a convenient choice for my family.
Today, I sent my son to make a purchase on my behalf. He informed me that during a previous visit a few weeks ago, he was denied entry by staff who stated that teenagers are not allowed in the store. As a result, he now feels uncomfortable and hesitant to return.
I would like to clarify that my son has no history of theft or inappropriate behavior in any public setting, and I have no reason to believe he did anything wrong. After reviewing your website, I found no mention of a policy prohibiting teenagers from entering the store.
If there have been issues with certain individuals, I understand the need for vigilance. However, it is unfair and potentially discriminatory to generalize and restrict all teenagers based on the actions of a few. Each person should be treated based on their individual behavior, not their age.
I respectfully urge you to review this situation with your staff. If this matter is not appropriately addressed, I may have no choice but to escalate my concerns by filing a formal complaint with the appropriate human rights...

That is not why you go to Galatis. You go to Galatis because the experience of shopping there is an absolute joy. The isles are wide, the place is clean, the layout is intuitive and while it might not be budget conscious, it leaves room for some variety in that department so you don't feel pressured into shopping multiple locations.
As others have mentioned, they need to be a bit more conscientious on their monitoring of expiring product. If it wasn't for continually great experiences I would rate them a little lower on this scale. Check dates on packaged meat and close to date milk. Otherwise you are in good hands.
The modern design and elbow room make for an easy to navigate world of food items that focus more on the quality of what you buy rather than the efficiency of questionable food stores like their lower market competitors and just accessible enough to offer higher quality foods similar to Pusateris-- with a major advantage in the variety of options.
