WHERES THE FUDGE??? Look at my pictures. Got a 10 inch cake yesterday and today. These cakes cost $35. They are supposed to contain a thick fudge layer and a chocolate crumble layer. In both cakes the crumbles were there in the proper amount but the fudge layer is nearly non existant. You can see a shiny little pocket smattered around the outer edge. Otherwise it's a tiny film barely present at all like butter on bread. I'm 54. Grew up on these cakes. Love these cakes. Have had them all over Canada. Never found a franchise that cheaped out on the best part of the cake like this location has done. TWICE. I feel shorting the fudge layer simply said HURTS THE DQ BRAND. DQ has web site sample pictures of cakes with slices out to show the distinct thick layers of fudge and crumble that consumers should expect to find when buying a DQ cake. Is that FALSE or MISLEADING ADVERTISING when products sold dont accurately resemble what's advertised? Weston road location made them properly now sadly they recently closed. MAYBE THEY WERE PUTTING TOO MUCH EXPENSIVE FUDGE IN THEIR CAKES. ☹ What I got didnt feel like it was worth 35 bucks and soiled my opinion of DQ which until today was 5 star. What's the mark up on some soft serve fudge and cookie bits. You guys are supposed to be the gold standard of ice cream cakes. Is DQ so hard up for profit that they are willing to skimp on the one ingredient that made these high priced treats worth buying? Must be really REALLY R E A L L Y ...
Read moreI have always had really good experiences here up until most recently. Brought the kids here on Friday for a birthday treat, arriving at 830pm. Door was locked, other customers were leaving so I asked the staff why they were closed 30m prior to closing. I was told they were just closed, no explanation. We even asked if we could go through drive thru which they said was also closed. Called the next day and spoke to Evelyn the manager. She apologized and said the staff were training and were overwhelmed, thus they closed the storefront but the drive thru was supposed to be open. She invited us to return that night and she would offer blizzards. I asked if would could come 830.she said that would be fine. We drove back with kids thst night and again, store front was closed (they already started to clean). Drive through was open and there were about 4 cars in front of us, each taking about 15m per order. Arrived at the window at 858 and was told that it were closed. This is unacceptable, even for a fast food establishment. Two times our kids were disappointed. We also have notified head office.
update the franchisee sent a letter and a gift card apologizing. They indicated they had a blizzard promotion and were not properly prepared for how popular it would be. I appreciate the letter and the acknowledgement. Hopefully the staff are better equipped...
Read moreBeen going here for many years since it opened. Lately the product quality and service has not been up to standards. Went this evening for a large cone with hot fudge on the side and a banana split. Both items were already melted by the time we got to the window to pay for our items(plus it wasn't busy, as there were no cars infront of us or people inside the store itself). The cone was melting, not firm or made with the nice three large layers as usual, the banana split honestly looked like somebody already ate from it as it was flatten, melted and the toppings looked like less then a teaspoon of each, maybe a pineapple piece or two, it looked like a milkshake in a banana split container. Does DQ have any Health and Safety Protocols implemented? Handling cash and products at the same time? Overall, needs improvements in many departments to keep regular customers and news customers. Things like this shouldn't be over looked. Sunday September 12, 2021....
