I often drive up Bayview on my way home from work and I always notice the patio at Duff's to be usually full. Hmmm, they must be good. I finally gave in and decided to give them a try. Darn, I was hoping to get a table on the patio but they were all full. Most of the tables inside were also occupied. This food must be good! The lighting and decor inside looked really dated but there were two tables available near the entrance so I chose one of them. A friendly server showed up soon after and took my order of Honey Garlic Wings (suggested by my server). A bowl of thick carrot sticks showed up first, along with napkins, Wet Wipes, and a bucket for bones, all the necessities for eating wings. The wings showed up a few minutes later, after I had started on the carrots. The wings were okay, with just enough honey to coat the wings. They were a decent size but beyond the honey garlic coating, they lacked some flavour. Even some salt and pepper would have helped. Maybe one of the other available flavours would have been better. Maybe. Overall, I've had better wings. The small patio seems to be the preferred seating area, maybe because inside feels a bit dated and dark. I would think twice before coming back.

I ordered Hot Honey Garlic Wings and the Greek Chicken Wrap. To start off, I ordered for pickup and the food was somehow already cool when I arrived. They don't seem to use any warming light and they use takeout boxes with holes in them which is extremely odd given that this makes the food cold. I've yet to see another restaurant make this mistake in Toronto. The wings here were way below average, despite the establishment's name I'd wager that you would probably get better wings at Pizza Pizza at a cheaper price. These wings lacked flavour and the texture and overall feel was poor. Perhaps this was due to a bad batch. The wrap was mediocre, it was not warm and while it was filling it wasn't much better than a $8 wrap at a local shawarma place. In terms of value, this place is way overpriced. I'm confident that you could get a better tasting meal for half the price within a 5 minute walk of this location. The staff, they were friendly and knowledgeable of their menu. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place, perhaps consider visiting All Stars or Wild Wings if you are looking for good wings.

For more juicy wings with nice, thick, tasty sauce, Duff’s on College St. serves up much better food than the Bayview location, as I just discovered when eating in their restaurant today (ordering takeout maybe not be as tasty or fresh however). I have repeatedly ordered takeout from their Bayview location to please my son even though I have not thought it was good value. Once, I was told my order of 2 lbs mild-medium and 1 lbs honey garlic wings with small fries one day before the Super Bowl would be ready for pickup in 25 minutes but the best I could say about the food was that the fries were ok and sort of warm by they time we got home. The wings seemed a day old, dried out, and abnormally crispy like they were at least a day old given how a congealed film had formed on the sauce on the bottom of the cardboard container as that was no longer all liquid. My conclusion then was that Duffs Wings sells food that is not worth the money, and it certainly is no longer famous! If you check other post reviews, I am not alone in my disappointment.

The wings have been going downhill since I’ve started going there the last 20 years. The first few times they were great wings juicy full of flavour and fresh. Then they started to get smaller, some places call the bistro wings less meat more skin( I accepted that). Next they got drier, the wings must have been fried already then re-fried when ordered and sauced. We still went back to have wings ( great coleslaw btw) to support local business plus the owner was nice from time to time. When COVID lockdown hit we did takeout and dine in when we can. The last straw was when we ordered a take-away when I got home we were missing the vegetables and dip. I call them right away and let them know, kind of expecting an apology and a credit of sorts for the next time. Boy, what a let down. The hostess that answer said ´that’s not possible ´ no mispacking here. We asked to speak with the manager, he then said he had checked with the kitchen and no mistake. By this time I’m thinking, if you people actually checked our history you can see we been doing takeout quite often. We were about to just hang up and leave it be, but then the lady on the phone said in a matter of fact tone ‘the veggies and dip just comes with the meal’ it not like you paid for it. That was was the last straw we have not visited Duff’s...

So my partner had a plan to treat the family to Duff's Wings. We were all looking forward to noshing on some wings. She called the restaurant on Bayview (Tuesday July 23 5pm). The Canadian website has a deal for 5lbs of wings (3 flavours) for $70+. Anne asked about the deal and the woman who answered the phone claimed not to be aware of such a deal. We directed her to their own web page. We asked for the manager and we're told he was not available. Then a man got the phone and said, "I don't want you thinking you coming here and getting a deal!" We surfed him as well to the web site and the deal. He made it clear he wouldn't be looking at the site, "Don't care what the site says you won't be getting a deal" I advised him we'd be calling corporate to deal with them not honouring the deals on their website. We called BOTH of the OTHER Toronto locations on Barhurst (Rathburn and College). BOTH of the other restaurants confirmed that the deal was being honoured at their locations. This rude male staffer at Bayview location (on Tuesday July 23rd 5pm), clearly doesn't take customer service seriously AT ALL! For courteous service, order from Duffs...
