Look, I'm going to be honest. I've been living in Toronto for many years. In that time, I have lived in several different parts of the city and known many different pizza places. Dundas Pizza stands alone as the one that captured my heart and soul.
It's not just that it's good. I mean it is - the food here is the kind of stuff that hits the sweet spot of greasy, delicious, fairly priced, and oh-so-satisfying in that primal way where you know you're doing harm to your body but it feels so good that you lose your capacity to care. You can't go wrong, but that's beside the point.
It's that when you go here, you feel seen. There is no pretense of hand-holding to make you feel like you're doing something other than what you're doing, like those flashy menus at corporate fast food joints that try to make a simple burger look like a gourmet sandwich, or a bland mass-produced pizza look like it was made possible by something other than cheap ingredients and despair.
No, my friend. When you enter Dundas Pizza, you are entering into a transaction, and there's no hiding that you are a willing party. They have what you crave in your darkest, most private moments, and they're going to give it to you. Behind the counter of this store lies some of the best comfort food of its kind, produced by some sort of forbidden kitchen sorcery unknown to the higher halls of so-called "cuisine" so often frequented by the snooty and pretentious.
This pizza is real. This poutine is real. It doesn't pretend to be anything more than what it is, and neither should you. Embrace the glory. You're here because part of you wants this. Dundas Pizza shows you the respect of acknowledging your true nature and meeting your needs without judgement.
I always walked out with more food than I intended. I always came back more often than I meant to. So will you. This is the nature of power. I advise you not...

After some searching, I came across this location, which satisfied my craving for that perfect, classic type of pizza I wanted, so my Inner Child was thrilled to find that familiar piece of comfort in this dark, crazy world.
On top of that, not only are the portion sizes and toppings very generous, especially at a time of increasing shrinkflation/inflation, but they're also really affordable.
Like a blast from the past, the old-school look/vibe makes the experience even better with relaxing ethnic music, along with the friendly owner, who likes to chat and tell a cute story about how he gets mistaken for being much younger than he really is.
Please support this independent pizza shop that has been in business for a very impressive 30 years. We're lucky that Mom-and-Pop shops like this still exist, although they are becoming more rare, unfortunately. Thank you for helping me relive one of the most cherished parts of...
ย ย ย Read more5 stars on all front. The service comes from a sweet independent shop owner who is clearly passionate about the food he makes. The atmosphere is kitschy, but not at all dirty. It rejects modernism and maintains the durable wood chairs and classic checkerboard aesthetic. The looks brought me in, and the food had me coming back at least once a week for years now. The pizza dough is soft inside with a crisp on the outside. Reminiscent of focaccia, but truly in a league of its own. The fried chicken hits the spot as well, and you MUST try the in house hot sauce. It's spicy, but also sweet/tangy. I keep telling him to bottle it up and sell it because I have never tasted anything like it. Last but not least, fair pricing. Go to Dundas Pizza and you...
