Had such an incredibly disappointing experience with this restaurant. Placed an order on Uber eats and called to ask them to please ensure they put some sort of tape/sticker to close the pizza box & ensure a safe + untampered delivery. This is my second time ordering from Burattino-the first time they did not put anything to close the box. I made sure to call this time in hopes of avoiding this incredibly uncomfortable situation once again. I spoke to a lady on the phone who said that they put a sticker on the box to ensure that it’s closed and they just sent it out with the delivery driver. I thanked them and hung up. The person on the phone lied for some reason, the box came without a sticker once again, as pictured. Now for the second time they have sent me a pizza without sealing the box in temper-evident packaging ahead of delivery, as per uber community guidelines!
In this day and age I truly dont know what kind of restaurant sends out food without even ensuring that the packaging is closed! It was so unbelievable and annoying that this happened again! What an unsafe and unsanitary experience for your customers. I called the restaurant to let them know once again. I spoke to a young lady at 5:09pm for 6 minutes. She actually literally told me that sometimes they run out of stickers, but they have them right now so she doesn’t know why a sticker was not put on my box. She told me that she would speak to the manager and either refund the order or send another pizza.. After that, nobody even bothered to call me back. It has been a day now. I tried to have a slice and was finding these hair or thread like substances in them, so i just said screw it and didnt even bother to eat it. Just an all around horrible experience. Wont be spending any more money with this restaurant who seems to not even care to ensure the safety of their...
Read moreIf you look at my other reviews, I'm always positive or at least I try to be. This place is not worth the hype. The social media influencers are clearly lying in exchange for free food.
There is no brick oven. It's a straight up gas oven, the same kind as Pizza Pizza or the like. Don't expect wood burning taste or anything of the sort. That's just misleading abd a bit of a turn off that they need to dupes people.
We waited over 40 minutes for our pizza. I should have left during the extensive waut, but, again, I try to be positive.
The pizza is good. But just okay. Nothing, and I do mean, nothing special. Nice crust, good sauce and a healthy amount of cheese and toppings. The black garlic dip, at a ridiculous $4.50 for a tiny cup, is gross. It literally has zero taste and definitely no garlic flavour. Don't waste your money on it.
We bought 1 large 18" pizza, 2 canned pops, 1 dip and $9 tip for $70!
Not worth half that TBH. We won't be back. I would strongly recommend other pizza places in the city that don't charge these outrageous prices. Frank's or Pizza Badali are much, much better.
EDITED TO ADD AFTER BUSINESS' RESPONSE: LOL. Worry less about book length responses when you get your feelings hurt, and more about making a better product for a reasonable price. Your 100+ 1 star reviews and a 4.1 star (couple of more bad reviews and you'll be dipping into 3 star category) overall rating should be of concern. Read all those reviews and see that the complaints are ALL THE SAME. But, you keep replying, with your phony attempt to be a novelist and fake "much love" after defensively protesting every complaint like a fiend,
As the social media exoerts that you claim to be, you should know that adding fuel to the fire makes my review stand out on Google. Keep going. Respond again. This time write 2 pages. Feed...
Read moreThe disparity between how mouth-watering Burattino manages to make their pies look on social media, and the reality of them, is so extremely wide. Of all the relatively recent social media pizza darlings, I'd safely rank Burattino in the lower echelons, especially when considering the poor value proposition- at their prices (I paid around $45 for a large), I expect markedly higher quality pizza. Our large was half their black garlic pepperoni and half "Croatian". The pepperoni was... just fine... nothing even remotely spectacular... while the Croatian was just a tragic, soggy, mess, with far too much going on for its own good. I won't even bother discussing the Croatian anymore, and will focus on the better half of the pie we got; the black garlic pepperoni. Look, it wasn't anywhere near the worst pizza I've had... but for what it cost, left much to be desired. Nice thinner crust (though the dough left much to be desired), and decent cook. Sauce was forgettable. I liked how their pepperoni were thinner slices. Frankly, not worlds better than a Pizza Nova thin crust or some other bigger chain (though I've had better pizzas from chains). I wish the business continued success- it seems their social media game is paying off-, but also employ patrons and reviewers to be more objective and forthcoming when fuelling the (unjustified) hype-wagon surrounding this spot. I see the owner likes to launch diatribes and play psychologist on any negative reviews, so go ahead, give me your best, lol. End of the day, it's my hard-earned coin I dropped at your utterly over-hyped pizza joint, and I (and anyone else who feels similar) am 100% entitled to voice my opinion. You can't just try to silence or discredit anyone whose view you don't like... Grow a...
