My Friend group of 5 people go out to earls religiously. We usually visit the Vaughn and square one location but we're in the area and decided to stop by. Our first ever experience at this location was back at the beginning of this year. It wasn't the best due to being seated 45 minutes after our reservation. We had high hopes that some things have changed since then. We were seated quickly due to our reservations. A couple minutes after we were seated we were introduced to our server. I forgot his name but he was an awesome brown dude with curly hair and he was the only good thing about our entire experience. We ordered some appetizers and drinks and we're excited to eat. The appetizers came out with some drinks but our water pitcher was missing. We spoke to our server and he let us know the water pitchers had run out so he had to manually come back multiple times to top up our waters. This was a bit disappointing because at all my earls visits our table of 5 guys would have 2 water pitchers enough for us to split amongst ourselves. We ordered mains and a couple more apps and waited patiently for our water. When the food arrived it wasn't our server with the curly hair but another gentleman with a buzz cut. When passing out our food he was extremely rude and condescending to us. It got to the point where he didn't want to explain what food item was on the plate so he just left it on or table and told us to figure it out ourselves. If I wanted Terrible service like this I would just go to McDonald's. I don't know if he was in a bad mood or just having a bad day but he genuinely made our table feel like complete idiots and ruined our entire vibe even though we were explaining to him whose dish belonged to who. The food ends up arriving and still no water. We spoke to the server again and he let us know still no water pitcher available. This leads our table to ordering soft drinks just so we can have something to drink with our meal. Soft drinks arrive and we finally start eating. We all ordered different versions of the Cajun chicken meal. The people who had rice and coleslaw had no issues with their food but everybody with potato salad had something wrong with their potato salad. The peel on the potatoes was so thick and the potatoes were so over cooked to the point were they were practically inedible. You would think the chef would try something before sending it out but I guess it didn't matter. Overall giving this earls location a second chance may have not been the best idea because they didnt land close to the other 4 locations my friend group and I visited. My friends and I still have hope things can change but after 2 bad visits it very unlikely we will be returning to this location. Thanks again to our amazing waiter for brightening the mood.
Edit: they were able to resolve our...

Read moreI wanted to share feedback regarding my recent visit to the Earls Yorkdale location on September 9 around 6:40 PM.
When I arrived, I asked for a table for two. The hostess immediately told me there would be a 45-minute wait or that I could sit at the bar. However, when I looked around, there were plenty of available tables, which made this confusing. To double-check, I left and attempted to book a reservation online. I was able to make one instantly for 7:00 PM, which confirmed that tables were indeed available.
When I returned and mentioned this, the hostess told me that OpenTable “doesn’t reflect what’s going on in the dining room.” From my own professional experience using OpenTable at other restaurants and lounges, I know that the system reflects live availability and includes both reservations and waitlists. When I raised this, her response was dismissive and given with a lot of attitude. She was snarky and disrespectful throughout the interaction, and even when I pointed out that the waitlist on OpenTable was empty, she brushed it off by saying, “regardless, whatever, you have your reservation.”
Even after I had a confirmed reservation, she insisted I would still need to wait, which defeats the purpose of making one in the first place. Instead of acknowledging the issue, she was argumentative and dismissive. Eventually, she said she would “figure out a table.”
When I came back, I noticed something that made me feel even more uncomfortable. A group of two or three people arrived right behind me, and they were seated immediately without issue. While I don’t want to assume or accuse, I cannot ignore the way this made me feel. To me, it came across as potentially discriminatory, and I left the experience feeling that I was treated unfairly.
In addition, when I was finally seated, the same hostess (with long black hair, though I believe her name was Abby or Paulina, but not entirely certain) placed the menus on the table abruptly without a greeting or the usual courtesy such as “enjoy your meal,” which only reinforced the unwelcoming tone of the evening.
This entire interaction left me and my guest feeling very unwelcome. I frequent Earls and usually have positive experiences, which is why this stood out so strongly in a negative way. The behavior of both hostesses did not reflect the level of customer service Earls is known for. Frankly, it has made me hesitant to return to this location in the future.
I hope this feedback is taken seriously and addressed with your team, as I would like to feel comfortable dining at Earls again.
