Eggsmart — Restaurant in Toronto

My sister & I meet up once a month and start with breakfast at Eggsmart, Brimley & Eglinton Ave. East location. This is our favourite location for the staff, the atmosphere, the dining experience. Recently, they've redecorated - it's bright, pleasant, beautiful modern colour palette. One of the gentlemen there, named Sultan, is consistently welcoming, friendly, professional and pleasant. Today we were served by a new wait staff member named Carol. She was attentive, patient, friendly and also professional. A wonderful addition to their team. The staff, the decor, the food and the presentation of the meal is what makes this our favourite location. Today we observed Sultan helping a homeless man who came in for food. Sultan cooked a meal for him, boxed it up and gave it to him. Unfortunately the man was a bit loud, rude and mean. Sultan, who didn't raise his voice above a calm, soft tone, handled this man extraordinarily well. The man was escorted calmly and safely out. I work with the homeless daily and observing Sultan coping with that man was precisely how I train others to handle acting-out situations while still maintaining support & safety for all involved. Sultan then went to each customer to apologize for the behaviour of the man. No need, but he did. A true professional. Top tier customer service here, top tier staff, top tier environment (they're still in the process of redecorating).Thanks, Eggsmart, for never failing to be the best place for breakfast. Oh! My experience a week ago in this place was wonderful considering that was my first time. The view was perfect. The food was perfectly prepared and presented. I met Harshdeep Kaur, Sultan the owner and Udey the Chief. All three, surprisingly, constantly check on me to see everything in perfect order. The waitress, Harsh, was so polite and kind to fill up the coffee. Overalls, I was satisfied and recommend to try it. I wish them the best. I visited again today 23 September 2023. As usual everything was perfect. The way I took the pictures so will not show the customer's face. They also have take out and delivery buy Uber eat, doordash, etc. Again today 25 July 2024 Again today 4 January 2025 They have Halal food and it is operated by Bangladeshi people and I know Bangladeshi people will love this place! Honestly food was half decent but it was kind of rushed. The pancakes I got seemed to be cold in some areas, the cook didn’t heat them all the way or didn’t heat for long enough and the grilled cheese I got didn’t even have the cheese grilled/melted. He just tossed 2 different cheese slices in between 2 bread pieces, heated it for 10-15 seconds and called it a day. The worst part of the whole experience was the fact that the service was atrocious. The main cook and his assistant both are very rude people and snapped at me when I asked simple honest questions.

They also did not seem to have any sort of food handling respect, no one is wearing a hair net when they have long hair, no one is wearing gloves when handling food after doing something else in the kitchen, and they’re coughing all over the place and not even covering their coughs up nor their sneezes. Very weird interaction and overall experience to me to be honest.

Never had this type of interaction at any of the other Egg Smart locations I’ve been too so I was kind of taken aback. Save your money and grab food from somewhere else or just travel a bit and go to another egg smart if you care about yourself...
