I ordered a decaf coffee, I paid immediately but I waited almost 30 minutes to get it. I just wanted to sit and drink my coffee in a reasonable time. The place was quite crowded but not that much, there were a lot of quiet moments, so the waiters were not overworked. I caught the attention of a waiter after 10 minutes and he told me he would be back soon. After 20 minutes I went at the counter since there was nobody in line and asked for my coffee, the waiter was rude, he didn't let me finish my phrase and told me immediately ''I'll be right back'' and disappeared in the cousine. After all that I wanted to leave but I had already paid for my coffee. After 30 minutes I went again to the counter and asked again for my coffee since I had to hurry and the very SAME waiter told me that he simply forgot my order and asked me again what I ordered... I finally managed to get my coffee (huraaaaay!!). They had plastic spoons in exposure but as soon as I picked one up another waiter told me that for enviromental reasons they prefered me to use a metal spoon (so why do you keep plastic spoons in exposure???) which were at another table. They made me wait also to give them back the metal spoon... what else to say? I'll definitely avoid this place, even if the costumers are really polite. Well done to me since I managed to keep calm and pacific from the...
Read moreCame here while trying to find food after visiting Casa Loma with some friends on a trip. While they unfortunately were not serving food at the time we got there, the baristas were very nice and let us camp out in the shade for a bit while we figured out a place to go. A couple of us got coffees (I had a cold brew with some shots added to it, the closest thing they had to an iced red eye) and they were good. However, what really stood out to me was that the barista brought our group ice water without us asking as it was a hot day out. Very simple thing that made an otherwise stressed out group of new travelers’ trip a lot better. They even gave us recommendations as to some other local restaurants that would be open as we’d had a couple we found on Google Maps fall through. I didn’t catch their name, but big shout out to how this place is run- the employees are genuinely...
Read moreThere is nothing that makes me happier than waking up to a cappuccino with one of Ezra's Pound's crisp, buttery croissants (made in-house daily)! The vibe of this neighbourhood cafe is welcoming and is a place for the locals to get their morning espresso fix, stop in for a chat (no plugs here - so don't try to kill the vibe studying for your finals at Ezra's, there's a Starbucks down the street for that) and enjoy the morning before the city rumbles to a start. If the amazing espresso and cafe treats don't bring you back, then maybe its the quiet and friendly staff, or maybe its the cute patio in the back, or maybe its the fact that all their one-use products are biodegradable?! Whatever it is, Ezra's Pound is a place I have been frequenting for years and will continue to champion to old friends...
