First & Last is such a delight to visit! Here’s what I love about this coffee shop:

Food and drinks: I got the lavender London fog and spinach feta croissant. Both were so wonderful! The lavender London fog had a great amount of lavender flavor in it and was such a great hot drink to comfort me after walking in the cool weather. I was able to get the spinach feta croissant warmed up and that heightened the experience. I had quite a bit of good cheese pulls and it satisfied my savory pastry craving! I noticed that their cookies sold out pretty fast and many customers coming in asked about them. I’ll be sure to return to try those and I’ll definitely come back for the lavender London fog!

Staff: the workers here are very sweet! Conversational, great with recommendations, and treat the drinks & food with care. I saw that they had developed a great rapport with regulars which is always great to see.

Space: seating can fill up fast, especially since I came on Family Day but chairs can open up quickly! I loved the couch they had inside (it was adorable and looked so comfortable). The vintage items they were selling elevated the spot and I also loved the painted-on lines on the wall which gave the shop more personality! I also enjoyed the music being played here and there is also free wifi! The washrooms were very clean when I went. Outlets are a bit limited though so keep that in mind if you plan on doing work here.

Pricing: the drinks are more on the affordable side and I paid a bit over $5 for my croissant which is reasonable. The vintage items are a bit more costly, but the ones that were considered ā€œmore expensiveā€ were incredibly beautiful which justified the price point!

I most definitely will be going back and this is such a neat shop! Perfect for bringing along friends or just...

Usually this place is great, but disappointed this time!!!!

I’ve visited this place a few times and always had great experiences, which is why I previously left a positive review. There’s usually a very friendly lady working here who’s always welcoming and kind.

However, my visit today (Saturday morning around 8:20 a.m.) was quite different and frankly, disappointing. There was a different staff member working, and unfortunately, the experience felt unwelcoming. I came in with my small dog , who was fully shaved and barely sheds, not realizing that pets weren’t allowed inside. I completely understand if that’s the policy, but the way it was communicated felt unnecessarily rude. As soon as I stepped in, she said, ā€œYou can’t be inside. Go outside and I’ll help you from there. There’s a lot of flying hairs and people would make a scandal for petting him.ā€

For context, the store was completely empty, there were no other customers around. Her tone and the way she spoke made me feel like I was doing something wrong or unwelcome. A simple, ā€œSorry, we don’t allow dogs inside,ā€ would have been totally fine and respectful. I greeted her with ā€œGood morning,ā€ and she didn’t respond 🄸just went straight into telling me to go out. After I thanked her for helping me, she said nothing back and just walked away.

Overwll, she seemed in a bad mood. Everyone can have an off day, but customer service should still be courteous. I still like this place and hope this was just a one off situation, but I did feel it was...

I went there today around 1-2 PM to have a latte. I asked for a soy latte. The barista (q bllonde girl) basically over heated. At the end it was all foam. I wouldn't call it a latte! More interestingly she was too noisy by talking to her fellow stuff and luckily her shift was over soon after my arrival. The toilet was full of garbage. The bin was not renewed. The water was not full for an hour or so. The next girl took over the shift used the f word for like 6 times in a row. I think the staff makes the difference. My first visit, my latte was amazing, everything was clean and neat. 2 pts only for the good music.

Edit: I went there again to give it another shot. The barista was busy with her phone didn't even look at my face when I was ordering. Afterwards, she forgot to give my americano. She only gave my breakfast sandwich. Then I asked for my americano, my "americano" was a drip coffee. When I told her she said no. Also, I did not hear the coffee grinding sound when she was making my...
