Haven't been to Faley since back in 2009. When I went back, most of my favorite places are gone, so figured I'd make a pilgrimage to my once favorite Faley out in Etobicoke. My first shocker was when I saw the staff and had a bit of a shock and it harkened me back to my experience at Frederick's in Markham after it sold. The staff was Desi instead of Asian. As with Frederick's, I figured the place had been sold and the food was destroyed and was ready to walk out. On asking the staff, it turned out, the owner was still the same, and so I sat down. (I don't have anything against Desi's, but the ones who bought Frederick's...suffice it to say, I stopped going there. And still wake up in the middle of the night having nightmares about putting a spoonful of Manchurian Chicken Fried Rice in my mouth and ending up with whatever it has become. Cold sweats man, I'm still recovering) Aneeeway! The food at Faley is amazing and on point. Exactly what Hakka should be. It took me back to the happy days when all I had to worry about was a smack from my mother or a really bad yelling from my dad. The pictures are attached to this review, and to be honest, they tasted soooooooo much better than what the picture shows. My only complaint is that the place looks a little antiseptic, but I was there for the food, so between the aaaahs and the uuuuuuuums, and the yessssss', I forgot all about it until now as I write this. Highly recommend! PS: After the dine in, I also ordered a bunch to take out with me. This has become my must stop for all my future trips to Toronto. I'd recommend you make it yours as well.

I bought a bunch of stuff from this place. For the Paneer chili, there was NO SALT and it was SWEET. I leave in London and was in the are for a meeting so picked up stuff from them. The next day i Called them and told regarding the Salt missing from Panner chili and it was sweet, to which the Crazy Owner say Pannner chili is never sweet. I said that's why i am calling i have never eaten Sweet Paneer Chili. They asked me to send the pictures which i did and i will share it here as well cos we did not consume that. The Owner out right said he is not going to fix the order and wont give refund for this. He said that its a cost to prepare food which is not UP TO STANDARDS and SELL to customers and he does not care if there was no salt and if it was sweet. Mr Owner keep that money which you made by cheating others and it will help your family. What a looser. and Horrible people and this is the second time this has happened

A Taste of East Asian Cuisine at Faley If you’re a fan of East Asian cuisine and enjoy spicy and flavorful dishes, Faley is a great choice. The menu offers a variety of delicious, spicy dishes that truly capture the essence of Asian flavors. Plus, the prices are very reasonable, making it a good value for the quality of food you receive. However, the restaurant’s ambiance isn’t particularly impressive or well-designed, which might be a downside for some. Additionally, during the hot summer days, the restaurant’s ventilation and cooling systems don’t perform very well, which could affect your overall experience. Overall, if you’re looking for tasty and affordable food and can overlook the simple environment, Faley is worth a visit.

Garbage service.

I don't think I have ever written something bad about anything and anywhere tbh. I have gone to pretty bad restaurants but to even charge me for an item I DID NOT like is pretty poor customer service. Not once were we asked how our food was but others were. Once told that the chicken was not what we were expecting, we were told, "You ordered it so you have to pay for it!" Same lady then said she would talk to her boss and once at the cash the man said "There is no manager." the noodles were okay and I can actually admit that. I don't know if it was because we were just 2 girls who were just not pleased with the item I really don't know. Pretty sad, considering that my workplace is pretty fond of this restaurant and many people in the office have spoken about going there. They definitely will know about my experience, as well as others. Just really disappointed.

Here's the thing, if we were told nicely that we would not get our money back or if we could even exchange the chicken for something else then that would have been a different situation and we would have definitely respected their decision tbh but to be told to pay for something you don't like is pretty rude. They came across as very money hungry since customer service was sacrificed for small chum $10.00 how sad is that?

(spicy Thai chicken was what I ordered)

If I could give 0 stars I would but I was forced to put 1... Just like I was forced to pay for the food.

CUSTOMER SERVICE IS KEY....

THOSE WHO ORDER TAKE OUT FROM NON-GTA PHONE NUMBERS, TAKE NOTE.

This is the second time I've visited this restaurant and the food is delicious, there is no doubt and I had an overall great experience the first time as an eat in diner.

However, what happened today was not something I've experienced before. We were on the highway en route to the airport and called from my London, ON phone #, and ordered to go food from Faley's and told them we will pick it up in 1 hour. However, to our surprise the restaurant hadn't even started our meal when we arrived to pick it up!!! The restaurant was empty with little traffic for the last hour according to some of the workers!! We were of course becoming quite late for the flight.

Needless to say we were frustrated. The manager told us the reason why they didn't make the food was because had previous non-GTA numbers order food as a prank call, and so he asked his employees not to make the food for non-GTA numbers until they arrive! I can empathize with his experience and understand its terrible for his business, but I am disappointed in this rationale. The owner seemed like a nice gentleman and the employees were apologetic, and I appreciate that, I do still think they shouldn't place such an extreme blanket statement to exclude non-GTA numbers from the same treatment as GTA...
