Friendly service and some seating available, loved the woodsy natural aesthetic, ok bowls, only packaged drinks available ($$) / no drinks menu for coffee/tea, and some merch available for the fans.
You order and pay at the front before receiving your meal and can get a preset menu option or build your own bowl. I tried one of the chicken menu bowls while my friend customized her own - we found both ok, the sauces weren't anything special and they give you too large portions relative to the bowl portion. Portions are pretty good and can be shared with 2 ppl for a smaller meal (breakfast/lunch).
Also surprised that although they serve in disposable somewhat ecological packaging (bowls are paper based, with plastic lids) the garbage intake is all in one (no compost/recycling even).. For dining in patrons, if reusable dishes aren't possible I'd recommend providing lids if necessary for leftovers after eating to help prevent some waste.
Asides from that, I got a cookie and it was awesome; if passing by I'd drop in just to get...
Read moreDon't know much about this place except it always seems to follow Dave's Hot Chicken. My wife and I were pretty excited when we saw this place open at the bottom of our street, Sorauren Ave.
Our usual go to is Mandy's on Ossington but there's definitely logistical issues there; pay parking, super busy most of the time, not terribly close to home.
We got take-out, I had the Village BLT as it comes, wife had the Sesame Spicy Cashew and added noodles. Both salads were on par with the quality, taste and freshness of Mandy's but slightly less expensive. As soon as I walked in, the place was super clean, nice easy to read menu board and there was my order waiting for me, which is never the case at the much busier Mandy's. Portion size also on par with Mandy's.
I love both places but since this is closer to home, it will be our go to going forward for...
Read moreI order from here weekly and this will be my last time. The portions have been getting increasingly smaller, I always pay extra for extra dressing but somehow end up with zero dressing. The standard Cesar comes with bacon, twice now I received lettuce with some parmasean cheese on top, chicken, no dressing and nothing else. It’s extremely disappointing. It’s very risky placing an order with this restaurant as you never know what you will actually end up with. I don’t reccomend unless you’re walking in and can monitor the person making your salad (which defeats the purpose of Uber eats...
