We went as a group of 8, only people at the place, chatting nothing out of the ordinary. Manager rudely interrupts us and asks us to be quiet, we were in a moment of shock looking at each other like what just happened. We asked the guy why would you say that. He responded this is my house I have to keep the peace here lol. This is not customer service. If you read other negative reviews, alot of similar experiences shere they felt they were rudely treated.
He proceeded to say I dont have to serve you thats when we decided not to stay, This business is not customer service oriented. EVEN IF we were absurdly loud AND there were other people sitting AND caused any inconvenience there were a million other ways to bring to our attention instead of his impolite and impulsive attitude.
I'd go else where.
My respond to the gentlman's comment.
No sir, we were talking normally, and last guests left before we started ordering. Regardless of this your attitude was NOT nice neither professional. My friend asked you politely why would you say that, and things went south then. I genuinely belieeve you as a business owner have no profeasional manner. You could have asked us to keep it down the moment someone said something BEFORE they left and we would have actually apologized but you are rude as hell and you deserve an official complaint filed against you and your business, I will see this through, we did have our experience else where thanks for your kind tip and it was levels better than your place and...
Read moreHaving lived in Istanbul, I was craving Turkish breakfast and I was hoping to find a satisfying option at Galata Cafe. However, I must say that overall I was disappointed for several reasons. It gave me the impression that there is no passion and pride to share the greatness that Turkish cuisine has to offer…
Overall a lot of potential for improvement (see advice below) and I suggest the owner to spend some time in Türkiye soon to experience real Turkish breakfast.
The food is generally overpriced: 5$ for a turkish coffee is ridiculous. 22$ for mostly a few slices of cheese and vegetables? Turkish tea was not served hot enough. Please consider serving it as it is done in Türkiye using two separate cans and a candle on the table. Add turkish pepper instead of sticking to basic tomato & cucumber Use Kaymak instead of Butter No eggs included in the breakfast for 22$. And even worse: to add a very simple dish like menemen, it would have been an additional 17$ (come on this is just eggs&tomato), I feel like a fair option would be to add an egg dish for 5-6$ but not 17$ no acma or simit comes with the breakfast but just a boring piece of bread no homemade interesting jam, just some boring standard strawberry jam make it more authentic by adding...
Read moreReally friendly staff that made me feel welcome as soon as I came in. However, I feel the dishes are way too expensive for what you get. In the image, you get 2 slices of cheese, a loaf of bread, 15 olives, slices of tomatoes and cucumbers, handful of fruits, a portion of some spinach pastry, and a turkish coffee for 24$ plus tax plus tip. Buddy. Come on, thats a breakfast for a small turkish child. When the plate came out, I thought it was the side salad for the gozleme. If you wanna rob people, I guess this is the most legit way.
*To the owner, Okay, let’s highlight the fact that there are 4 x 2 tablespoons of condiments with the meal. Also, in your other replies, you keep on mentioning how there is unlimited tea or bread..but you don’t advertise that in the store anywhere.
Multiple people not finishing a half assed plate is a joke. 5 slices of cucumber, 15 olives, 2 slices of cheese, and a quarter? Half? Of a tomato.
You dont seem to handle criticism well based on your other replies to reviews. I did enjoy the meal, and my complaint was regarding value and worth, not low cost. I gladly pay premiums on places that are worth it. Hope you learn to accept some criticism in your 10+ years...
