I ordered my meal from UBER eats (who will also receive this review shortly) I ordered a Smoked Meat sandwich with fries and extra gravy $19. Okay I know that ordering from UBER eats could be expensive but this was a Montreal Smoked Meat Sandwich at 3am. I received the delivery at 3:15am and thanked the driver. went back into the office and sat at my desk to eat my sandwich. but I noticed the sandwich was missing the fries and the extra sauce that i had ordered. I then looked to see that the sandwich had a hamburger bun instead of the Rye bread that naturally comes with a Montreal Smoked Meat sandwich. IT LOOKED LIKE A SMOKED MEAT SANDWICH WITH EXTRA MUSTARD AND HAMBURGER BUNS.
Who does that????
Never in my life has this happened. So I called the restaurant to get an explanation as to what had transpired. What I received was this young man ranting at me about how I should know how to use the UBER eats app. That that picture representing the order is not what's being sold. Where in this world is there a smoked meat sandwich for $10.25 on a Hamburger bun. George's BBQ and Deli, that's where.
I even had to ask the young man on the phone to calm down (at least 3 times) because he was acting as if explaining his point meant he had to sound as unprofessional as possible. at had to "literally" tell him that I was trying to agree with him and he still was trying to make his point about how the APP should be used and that in the future I should call to ensure that my order is what I ordered.
After i hung my phone and place the food in the fridge for any employee that may want it. I received a phone call from the same young man to state that ordering directly from the restaurant would have been easier and less of a problem. I thanked him for his follow up to his previous rant and stated that it was bad costumer service to call back so quickly just to say that it wasn't the restaurants fault.
NOW! I work for a VIP Concierges Service and I recommend Clients to various authentic restaurants for late late dining. Guess who just got kicked of our list. You never know who your talking to at the end of the phone line but professionalism should always be maintained. And blaming the customer... That's a...
Read moreNormally I would rate them 5+.. I’ve been ordering from them for 25+ years and for the first time ever they are telling me they charge extra for white meat on my chicken sandwich.. I’m already paying $11 plus tax for the sandwich alone (not meal) and they cancel my order cuz they say they are not making money.. I’ve been ordering $50 or more on sandwich’s and wings plus fries for many years and all of a sudden they can’t give me what I want.. they even contacted me and said they can’t fulfill my request cuz they charge extra $2 for the request and when I accepted the request, they still cancelled.. when I called them to find out what was going on, the guy said “they are not making money and have ALWAYS charged a $2 fee for white meat.. I’ve always given them noting but good reviews and compliments but I guess these days they are “NOT” making enough money from their “late night unemployed crowd” they want to lose money from a solid devoted customer who works hard for their money even when I started ordering from them 25+ years ago being 16 years old working a part time job and going to school..they have already raised the price on all their food significantly. shame on this company for treating me this way… I can say they lost a very...
Read moreNot the best experience I've had with chicken in the city. Ordered pickup using the online system. Very basic order - whole chicken, pound of ribs & medium fries - $50. I did not see that there was a combo special to upsize for a few dollars more for a much better deal with some better add-ons - my error. But this was not offered to me since I had pre-paid by Credit card (I guess). When I went to pick up the food, the fellow behind the counter was unaware of my order saying his iPad was down so I had to show proof of the order - it was all on my phone. He fulfilled the order quickly as other patrons entered the establishment to get their meals. Obviously there is no sitting area, while I was waiting, and sitting on milk crates, I was able to look around - the restaurant is grimy and old, and could really use some updating. Once I got it home, the chicken itself was cooked well. It was cut into quarters. The ribs were not the BBQ ribs I was expecting - they were in a tomato sauce. The best part of the meal were the fries. If I do come back, it might be for a chicken sandwich, based on the reviews of...
