Although it’s near the prime Yonge & Dundas intersection in downtown Toronto, this eatery offers very wallet friendly prices for big portions of food. With today’s ongoing inflation cannot go wrong with the Briyani served here at $5.99, that can easily fill 1 person. The gentleman that was working at the front on the long weekend Sunday evening, was more than friendly by offering us some gravy to be topped onto the Biryani rice. Overall, the 5 stars is for the amazing price and value for money, although the eatery’s general cleanliness may seem a little off putting. I already know where to eat if I am hungry in the area while on a budget.

Don't be discouraged by the casual nature of this restaurant. They consistently make some of the best Indian food in Toronto at a fraction of the price of anywhere else! The lamb curry is honestly some of the best I've ever had with succulent meat falling off of the bones. You can get it with rice or naan for $10.50 tax in. The everyday $6.99 biryani is also fragrant and perfectly balanced. They'll even offer you a little curry gravy on top for that extra layer of flavor! I should also note that the service is always fast and friendly. If you want delicious, authentic South Asian food, this is the spot to go to in downtown Toronto!

Positives: cheap. 16.50 for beef curry, naan, a drink and a ton of rice Negatives: Lacked flavour. The rice was really dry and was begging for more sauce. Even 10% more would have helped out a lot Neutral: The guy at the till asked me to sit at the window. I've never been to a counter service place that asked me to sit at a specific place. Maybe he wanted it to look more busy for people passing by? I don't know. I would have sat there anyway, so not a negative for me. Conclusion: would go back if I was in the area and wanted something cheap, but I'd try something different. Will try other restaurants in the area first

6 month UPDATE: Changing from 5 stars to 1. Contracted salmonella after having the chicken biriyani. I will not risk going back here even if this was a one off, due to quality having consistently slid over the last few months, and this was the final blow for me. You'd likely be okay if you're vegetarian but otherwise, serving undercooked chicken is a recipe for disaster. Left my original review below here too, I'm very disappointed in the change.

Very large portions and tasty food at a fantastic price! Don't let the appearance of the restaurant fool you, it's very plain and simple but the food speaks for itself. Cheerful staff too. I had the chicken biryani today and will be returning for sure to try...

The young’s guys are ok but the old man (maybe owner) have no idea what customer service is. The food is never fresh and when he heat it up it never done properly.

Never smile, and always makes you feel very unwelcome. When you ask about specials 😮 not happy about it. (One time I forgot to take my water that comes with my special and when I asked to take it before I exit, he started arguing me about it and said =next time make sure you remember otherwise you ain’t getting anything) Don’t even ask him to make a naan for you 😂 (he will b t c out of you. He has a face of death. I live in the same building and like all other resident will never go back...
