Pita Land Shawarma - Pace Condos — Restaurant in Toronto

I used to be a regular at this location and always appreciated the food, but after several uncomfortable experiences, I won’t be returning.

On multiple occasions, a staff member (possibly the supervisor) made comments about my appearance once saying my makeup wasn’t blended well a while ago, and recently commenting that I look “more beautiful and shiny with makeup” when I came in without any after the gym. These remarks were unprofessional and made feel judged rather than welcomed.

It’s happened more than once, and I’ve noticed that when I’m not fully “done up,” I get unsolicited comments. It’s disappointing, especially when customers should feel respected no matter how they show up.

I also had an issue with an order not being ready after I was told to return in 25 minutes-despite little activity in the store. That experience, combined with the repeated comments, made me feel like my time and presence weren’t valued.

Friendly service is great, but professionalism and boundaries matter more. Sadly, I won’t be coming back.

And during another visit, while I was eating, the same staff member started mopping right next to me and told me to be careful. It’s basic restaurant etiquette not to mop while customers are eating-it honestly closed...

Went here this morning for a pita box and paid before the man working began making it (usually it is the other way around but I didn't think anything of it). He then finished making it and asked me to pay again, I politely told him I had already paid. He told me that I didn't and showed me the debit machine which he had JUST punched in, that the amount was still on the screen. I said I paid before he made it. He then asked me if I had a receipt and I said no because he didn't offer me one, and I also was in the restaurant (no one else was there) for the entire time he had made it. He would not give me my food and said I needed to show my receipt. I showed him the notification on my phone through my bank that the transaction had been approved. He still denied it and said I needed to pay. I began to become very frustrated and just stood in silence until he then handed me the food I had paid for. This altercation was very rude. I would have been a lot more understanding if he had not initially just said "no you didn't pay". He should have checked HIS history of transactions instead of being so accusing. Not happy at all. Will not be returning and will mention this...

Although the food was okay, took very long for us to receive the right order. This was the first time we were here and I gave my order to the lady at the front. This was around 3am and I ordered chicken pasta, chicken loaded fries a chicken shawarma wrap, cheesecake and two drinks. They said it will be a twenty minute wait and me and my husband said okay and went out. Came back twenty mins later they made us wait another 10-20 mins. And then when we finally got the food we grabbed the bag and went to the car. Got to the car and drove off then we realized we only got the pasta, cheesecake and chicken bites that we didn’t order. Had to call them and go back and wait another ten mins for them to fix the order. I work at a restaurant too and i make sure to repeat the order to every customer make sure I don’t mix anything up. This was extremely unprofessional and the management needs to give more training. Only one girl knew what she was doing and sadly she didn’t take our order. The one that did seemed clueless the whole time. It’s now 4 in the morning and we are finally eating. Very disappointed me and my husband won’t come again even though...
