TLDR: + Excellent spot for cheap, delicious and decently sized tacos + Plenty of seating + Fast and friendly staff - Parking is very limited - If it’s really busy, wait times are a little long _______________________________________________________________ Hey Family, Here's my honest review of my visit to Gus Tacos in Etobicoke. My wife & I were craving some tacos so we decided to check out Gus Tacos. At first glance, the business stands out from the others with its unique white and red look. Everytime we drive by this establishment is always busy and we can never find parking. We decided to park in the nieghbourhood and walk over. The business seems small but once you enter we were surprised how many customers it can sit. The restaurant has a very simple decor with a very, straightforward menu. Prices are clear and the options are easy to understand. We decided to try 3 tacos each. The price point is very attractive @ $5 a taco!!!! We decided to order in and we received our tacos maybe 15 minutes after ordering. Each taco looked unique and tasted delicious. Portions were great and we were so full just after 3 tacos each. After you’re finished eating it’s always courteous to throw out your own trash and leave the tables clean for staff to tidy up. Overall we had a great visit and would definitely visit again. All in all I give this location a 4 out of 5 stars. Until next time…..

My 1st impression of Gus Tacos' Etobicoke location was that it looked like a stereotypical fast food chain/an old-school diner. Simple/retro decor with some limited seating inside. BUT the overall quality, flavours, and taste of the tacos truly took me aback! I first ordered 1 grilled steak taco, 1 carnitas taco, and 1 birria quesadilla. My fiancé and I also tried the guacamole and chips and ordered 2 horchatas. The meat was exquisite, juicy, and tender, and the flavours from the salsa, avocado, cilantro, lime, and red onions infused together truly complimented its authenticity. We ended up getting more tacos after our 1st round since we simply couldn't resist, and I'm so glad we also got to try the birria broth and tres leches cake. Much to our surprise, since they use fresh, wholesome ingredients--there was no grease. We didn't feel bloated/sick to our stomachs after (unlike eating at 'Tex-mex' fast food chains such as Bar Burrito, Quesada, Chipotle etc.) Depending on your appetite, you may have to order 4-6 tacos before you feel full, which can be a little pricey since it's sold per item. But you truly pay for what you get and can't put a price on quality. Staff were also friendly, and our food was served within a timely manner during peak hours of a Saturday evening. I can't wait to go back!

We recently visited Gus Tacos and had such a fantastic experience! We ordered the birria tacos, fried chicken tacos, chips and guacamole, and horchatas — and everything was absolutely delicious. The birria tacos were flavorful and tender, and the fried chicken tacos had the perfect crispiness with just the right amount of spice. The chips and guacamole were so fresh — the guac was creamy, perfectly seasoned, and a great complement to the rest of the meal. The horchatas were refreshing and beautifully balanced, not too sweet, and a perfect way to cool down. One small thing we noticed was that we’re used to having birria tacos already dipped and served with consommé included, but here, we had to purchase the consommé separately. While this was a bit different from what we’re accustomed to, it didn't take away from how much we enjoyed the food overall. The quality, freshness, and flavors were truly top notch, and we could feel the care put into each dish. We left feeling full, happy, and excited to come back again. Highly recommend to anyone looking for authentic, delicious tacos and a great overall dining experience!

Stepping into Gus Taco Mexican restaurant is a journey for the senses, a vibrant escape to the heart of Mexico. The atmosphere buzzes with a lively energy, where the aroma of grilled meats and fresh cilantro hangs in the air, immediately whetting your appetite. The decor is a feast for the eyes, adorned with colorful murals, traditional folk art, and warm, inviting lighting that makes you feel right at home. It’s a place that welcomes you with open arms, whether you’re on a first date or a family gathering. The true star of the show, however, is the food. Each dish is a testament to authentic Mexican cuisine, made with a clear passion for flavor and quality. The tacos are a revelation—piled high with your choice of succulent carne asada, tender al pastor, or flavorful chicken, all nestled in warm, handmade corn tortillas. The house-made salsas, ranging from a mild, smoky roja to a fiery habanero, are the perfect complement, allowing you to customize each bite to your liking. But the menu's excellence doesn't stop at tacos. The enchiladas, smothered in a rich, savory mole sauce, are a comforting masterpiece, and the birria consome is a deep, complex broth that you'll be tempted to drink with a spoon. Beyond the food, the service at Gus Taco is exceptional. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely enthusiastic about helping you navigate the menu. They are quick to offer recommendations and ensure your experience is nothing short of perfect. They move with a grace and efficiency that keeps the dining room running smoothly, even on the busiest nights. It’s this combination of incredible food, a captivating atmosphere, and stellar service that makes Gus Taco more than just a restaurant; it’s a memorable dining experience that will have you counting the days until your next visit. Whether you’re a longtime fan of Mexican food or a curious newcomer, Gus Taco is an...

I recently visited Gus Tacos and was extremely disappointed. I am a regular customer at the Brownsline and Kensington locations and I am constantly referring everyone because the food and service are usually great unfortunately, this last visit left me stunned! I was at the Brownsline location two days ago and I ordered my food and paid cash. When I looked at my change I realized I was short changed. An honest mistake but the way she handled the situation was not. When I went to tell the cashier she was extremely rude. She was literally screaming at me and arguing with me. I was trying to explain calmly the error and she just went at me. I could not believe what was happening. Then she proceeded to speak Spanish with the other workers, laughing and telling her story about the situation. I told her in Spanish it is probably best not to do that and I wanted to speak to a manager. I was handed a card and was dismissed. The other employees seemed friendly and I even asked someone else who I see often if she was the manager. She said she was not. I am extremely disappointed from the customer service from this one particular employee. I have never experienced such unprofessional behaviour.

UPDATE: The owner and management at Gus Tacos really value customer service. I have always experienced great customer service as a frequent customer at several Gus Tacos locations except this one time. They listened to my concerns and I greatly appreciate that they took the time to do so! Gus Tacos is one of my Favourite local establishments with delicious food and I will...
