Reb the reviewer here! Fantastic cafe to get some work done and enjoy delicious coffee and food. I run my own business remotely from my van and love checking out new spots around the city. Here's my experience: Wifi: Yes! They have wifi, and the password is accessible via the signs on the wall. Generally pretty good, I did not take a video call but was able to work on documents/emails with zero issues. Outlets: There are SO MANY plugs here. I have been looking for a place in Toronto that is locally owned that has reliable power, and it's been very hard to find. Window seats have outlets, there is also a bar at the back with many. Coffee: This time, I went with a Dirty Chai. It was delicious! The chai was so flavourful and authentic. Food: WOW. I just gobbled down the BLT and no word of a lie, might be the best I've ever had. The sourdough bread was delicious, and whatever mayo/garlic/salt situation was going on was 🤯 Seating: Super open and spacious, so much natural light and beautiful design. There is a wide variety of seating, but if you are shorter you might get some shoulder pain working since the tables are a bit higher then usual. Washroom: Yes! Washroom is shared with the entire building, need to get a key from the door at the back of the cafe.

Very close to my house so I come here often (solely for this reason). Whether you’re dining in or taking out, the wait time is always very very slow. And I am talking about hours when there is 2 people inside. Staff sometimes making coffee and taking orders at the same time, also waiting until everyone makes their order even though a person just came in and I have been waiting for my coffee for 7 minutes already(which I was planning to get before work and not be late). No one is asking if you want to take out or no and automatically pour it into a regular mug. Cashier is most of the time not very friendly and just greets you with a long face lol. Multiple times mixed up my orders and did not put the add-ons I asked for (which was whoever was the cashier’s fault). Coffee sometimes noticeably bitter, completely burnt or super hot, which is I think weird for $8 coffee. Good things about this place is atmosphere and quietness. No matter how many people there are, every other table has their laptop and I think that’s what makes it less noisy. Very nice interior, high-ceiling windows and delicious cookies and sandwiches. As I said, I would only visit if it was the closest coffee shop to me, but it is very nice inside.

I loved the atmosphere here... open, modern, chill, and very friendly baristas. Its not often you find a coffee place that offers seating with such a large space. We got here in the late morning and wanted a good kick of flavour and caffeine. You have your choice of outside benches, inside tables where you can work on your laptop, or some lounging chairs to relax in. The place has huge windows so it never feels like a cave but a really nice happy sunny spot.

The menu is quite cool as it has cashew milk as an offering. Last time we tried it was in Buffalo where it add an unique nutty note to the cappuccino. We ended up getting the cashew cappuccino and a dirty chai with almond milk.

Cashew cappuccino - At a premium price of $7, this is possible one of the most expensive coffee drinks we've tried in Toronto. It is a regular smaller size and seeing how we tried it in Buffalo, we know it's not easy to source and it can be a bit more expensive. Is it worth it? uh... not quite. I'm not sure if this cashew milk was super watery but the espresso was very diluted and it just tasted really watery. For the price of $7, I would definitely skip. 3/5

Dirty Chai - It's not always a good sign when your barista goes "Oh that's new" when you request your drink. Suffice to say, the flavours were really imbalanced as well with most of it being water. I didnt get any tea flavour, spices, or even a good espresso note. A lot of it was muddled water unfortunately. 3/5

Overall, great atmosphere to relax, catch up on emails, or enjoy the sun while getting a coffee. Perhaps it was an off day but I'd skip the...

I want to start out by saying that this was my third time coming to this hale as my boyfriend used to rave about this location as one of his favourite local coffee shops but the three times we have gone over the past year have been horrible. Today was notably worse than each time before. We have now gotten used to the slow wait times and mediocre service and only come here when we are desperate. Today, March 4th at 5pm we came to grab beans to make our coffee at home. There was one girl was on staff and she ignored us waiting at the counter for over five minutes, continuing to clean dishes after seeing us waiting. When she slowly made her way to us she made it clear that she was in no rush but putting away more dishes. When she had finally reached the counter she did not greet us or apologize for the wait. She simply scanned the beans without saying a single a word and walked off without even prompting us to use the machine. I have never been treated with such blatant disrespect as a customer and quite frankly I could receive better service at Tim Hortons. With all that being said, I will not be returning to this establishment and would urge you all to avoid it as well. There are tons of local cafes in this city that actually value the business and building relationships with their customers and this shop is simply not one of them. Spend your money somewhere that properly trains their staff and actually knows how to make your...

Terribly long and unfriendly service. First of all, nobody asked if we prefer regular cups or to go, they just quickly assumed it’s to go I guess. Then, after tipping in advance, I waited for two cups of coffee and a small cup of cold milk waaay two long (honestly, it takes several seconds to pour just milk). Not to mention I was standing with a baby in front of the counter which is ok, I can wait, but not that long seeing no one else is waiting and it was literally just my order. So I waited for the staff to laugh, talk, give weird looks, slowly wash a couple of jugs, wipe something. Again, it may sound like I was expecting more, and I truly was, since I’ve been to Hale before, another location at SQ1, where I’ve met the owner a couple of times. Really friendly and dedicated staff there, not to compare at all. The best part of my recent visit is when the barista over poured my cup and even laughed. It looked ridiculous, the coffee was practically spilling over and I was supposed to take it in one hand to my table - even no offer to help (I mean really guys?) I understand this location is not very suitable for people with kids and I didn’t ask for anything, also my kids behaved very well and we did not disturb anyone enjoying their coffee. It would be really nice though if the staff cared about their customers. Giving two stars because the coffee was tasty, however the rest ruined my...
