Caldense Bakery — Restaurant in Toronto

Popped in yesterday (Saturday) to try out. Once entering I noticed nothing but chaos, people ordering from all over. There was no clear direction to us where to order from. Finally once the young girl at the counter was ready to move on to the next person she screamed next, we didn’t turn around to her straight away so she yelled next again! She had zero patience, this was our first time here and we were rushed into selecting something to eat. Once our order was ready she shouted down to us so we picked up our bag and brought it to our table. We noticed something was missing so we went up and asked her where it was, she knew exactly the thing she forgot to put in the bag. She dropped a snarky remark saying we have table service. We ate our food and left. So today (Sunday) we decided to order from them on Uber eats so we didn’t have to look at the same unpleasant person again, ordered $34 worth of food and guess what, someone else’s order got delivered! Didn’t receive anything I ordered. The people working here need to be trained on customer service and need to be taught how to read simple instructions. It’s not...

It's always good to reminisce old times to our ethnic foods and pastries especially however there's a couple of products that they sell there that I would rather not see them there because they are not good at all and they are Malassadas and the rissois de camarao the pastry of the the shrimp puffs is good but the filling inside no the the other they call it Portuguese fried donuts oh God they're like hard and not puffy the way they that I'm used to so I didn't enjoy that too much other than that the service was good the place is clean the atmosphere is great the environment everything was fine except for those two items and so happened that I wanted to try it and then like it at all however their bread is great they have a diverse variety of different kinds of Breads and of course I always when I come down to Toronto I enjoy it but this last time I was there I was a little disappointed however it's time to try again...

This is my third time coming to this bakery and I'm disappointed. I remember I was thrilled to know there was a bakery close to my home and the first time I went, the pasteis de nata were great.The second time I bought a cake that they recommended and it was quite stale and dry. I thought okay, maybe it was just a bad batch. Yesterday, I decided to give the bakery another chance because it was convenient to go to, so I bought more tarts and the cherry coconut desserts and found it dry and at least a few days old. I found two hair strands one of them and tried to eat another piece but the others were also stale and inedible (I even found the starting of a mold on the crust). I wouldn't recommend this place at all until they change the way they bake, and start selling fresh...
